You are 100% shitting me this is a thing we have in our league now, right??? The guy was our 2nd best prospect, possibly our best. I rarely give a shit about injuries and whatnot, but this has me pretty hot. Is this something we're keeping on? I could see if he got hurt, playing the fucking game we're simming, but to have him quit to go play fucking golf just for the sake of adding a twist to the game??? Ridiculous.

This game hates Ryan. Jerry Morgan took a weird one with the death of the kid and then he just fell apart and retired. He was awesome in VIR.

But the weird injuries are sometimes humorous (when you aren't on the receiving end). I remember when my CF JR Lowe hurt himself with fireworks. That one pissed me off, but Funclown laughed.

No, I don't like the outcome. And while I'm pissed about the outcome, I'm more pissed that I didn't know it was even possible. My fault, because had I known this was possible when we upgraded, I would have proposed a vote to disable it before something like this happened.

But dude, that's not how I roll. I've lost plenty of players to injury over the years, and you barely hear a peep from me. But this setting is bullshit, plain and simple. This game features plenty of randomness, and I for one don't need any more of that shit, especially from a horseshit setting.

Delandis, are you actually okay with this setting as is, or are you upset I'm upset about an in game setting? Or are you upset it may be overturned?? Just trying to understand.

I mean, what if just prior to heading to the Brewmasters, Chiba decided to retire to study the effects of neutral park settings within a fictional baseball universe? Wouldn't that feel really fucking cheap and unnecessary?

In the OSFL, after years struggling to put together a title contender, I entered the playoffs with home field advantage. During the bye week, my All-Pro QB went down with "severe depression." I made it to the Championship with my backup but got blown out.

I see it both ways, maybe. If I was playing a solo league, whatever. But in a super competitive league like this, it just stings.

The difference, for me, is that this isn't a baseball injury. It's a "made up" set of circumstances to add a twist to the game.

In the end, I'd prefer to play a baseball sim, not house. But as usual, if the league's okay with it, then it is what it is.
