Doesn't have to be a soap opera, just simple rule.

Do we even know what setting causes this?

It's not an injury. That's how it is different. If it were a CEI injury he would be restored anyways. We have a rule for that situation....we don't have one yet for this.

Ryan - the dude BARELY missed the cut at Q School while playing baseball full time! Imagine what he could do if he put a little more focus on golf. He probably sees the direction the Clowns are going and knows it's time to cut bait, too. Quit hating!
Ha, I missed this. I am a hater.

I work with this guy that thinks he's still going to become a pro golfer at the age of 36. He's pretty good, better than me, but his game's absolute shit. He will forever be referred to as Ted Hall.

Oh no way. It's the Ted Hall rule. I'm sorry, but that story was classic.

It's a storyline. They were off in '14...they turned back on in '15.

We can turn them off again for all I care. We don't have CEIs though. To lose a player completely is wrong. Season ending, which is what CEIs are edited too, is fine by me.

Can a GM do anything to prevent a scenario like this?
For example, would this prospect have stuck to baseball if he was moved along faster?
I am NOT saying that Ryan is at fault here. Not at all. I'm just wondering if there are controllable factors for certain scenario's or if it's truly just random and plumb dumb luck.

If it is controllable, it would be nice to know so that we can at least have some bearing on the outcome.

I'm all for resetting this if the majority agree. If we shut this off in '14, then I think it's only fair it's shut off in '15.

But I'll go with the majority on this decision.

No. I've seen it happen with guys in the Major league level.

Well, I've only seen it one other time. Second time overall. First time a major organizational prospect.

Thanks for the quick reply Carlos.

I'm in favour of restoring the player.

I would be ok with a reduction to a season long injury/suspension as long as the guy has not been in the majors. Once he's in the majors, tough.
