  • 2010 End of Season Awards

    Pimp away.

The utility is open with just two weeks left in the BLB. Feel free to vote for any "locks" then finish up any other races once the post season starts.

    http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/...eos_ballot.php

    - Voting is mandatory
    - Vote in ALL Categories!!
    - Voting begins immediately and will last until the last SIM of the playoffs or final ballot is received.
    - Teams who don't submit a fair ballot may have their votes invalidated. (ie leaving a rival player off the ballot so your guy wins, etc)
    - Voting will be done in the utility using the link above.

I hate that the utility can't sync up with in-game rookie status. The selection criteria for the utility seems to break down at times.

It seems to happen every season. The in-game criteria is different from the utility criteria. In this instance it's Al Anguiano. I'm sure I could find others this season once I have the game in front of me and check rookies in-game vs those ID'ed by the utility.

Lots of interesting decisions to be made...can't say there is a clear cut winner for any of the awards in the DL.

          Obligatory Pimping here:

          Stout Sugger
          Ethan Bafford - LF
Bafford missing these two weeks may work against him...but still, 30+ 2B, 30+ HR, 30+ SB...excellent defender, just an absolute 'Hero' as one rival GM claimed him to be.

.320/.380/.573/.953 OPS (1.003 OPS vs LHP, .886 OPS on Road)
          37 2B | 6 3B | 31 HR | 102 RBI | 36 SB
          .391 wOBA , 8.14 RC/27, 6.0 WAR

          Zach Henne -3B
Tremendous season for Mr. Henne, plus defense at the hot corner and a great bat as well. Has been a consistent force in the middle of our lineup this season.
          .288/.331/.557/.888 OPS
          23 2B | 42 HR | 118 RBI

          Pale Ale
          Jamie 'Fudd' Thomas
          Currently 16-8
          3.23 ERA | 208.2 IP | 187 HA | 201 K - 39 BB | 1.08 WHIP | 6.8 WAR | 48.2 VORP | 4 CG ... 2 SO
Fudd has been one of the better pitchers in the game for many seasons, and this year he's been the horse for a very competitive team. He continues to be a strong pitcher in the BLB and is certainly a candidate for Pale ale.

          Heriberto Rocha
          Currently 17-10
          3.69 ERA | 197.1 IP | 192 HA | 214 K - 48 BB | 1.22 WHIP | 6.9 WAR | 28.5 VORP
Herby is another guy who loves the game, he's the ultimate competitor and he's had a really strong year and he's been ace-like this season and has been a great 1A to Fudd.

          Last Call
          TJ 'Tubby' Mileski
          9-2 35 Saves | 1.94 ERA | 65 GP | 45 HA | 106 K - 13 BB | 0.83 WHIP
One of the most dominant and consistent closers in the game, has had a tremendous year and because of the strength of the offense and the rotation hasn't had the massive save numbers as other guys, that being said, he's still one of the few guys who you hand the ball to in the 9th inning and get ready to shake hands. Hopefully he can exercise his playoff demons once October starts, but this 2010 campaign has been one of his finest seasons in his career.

There's a lot of great players who are worthy of these awards in the league, but bias aside, these players are certainly guys who everyone should consider!

Criteria is only less than 50 games. No clue why they don't like him.

I think it's less than 50 days of service in the utility and I think the issue is it probably incorrectly counts DOS after rosters expand Sep 1st.

I believe if you're up for more than 30 days you lose your rookie status. Otherwise Schiefelbein and Robertson should be eligible. They only pitched in September of last year.

                  Sorry. It's 45.

A player shall be considered a rookie unless, during a previous season or seasons, he has (a) exceeded 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched in the Major Leagues; or (b) accumulated more than 45 days on the active roster of a Major League club or clubs during the period of 25-player limit (excluding time in the military service and time on the disabled list).

Yeah, so September time shouldn't get factored in at all, and I believe it probably does in the utility.

Could be an OOTP thing. Because their rookie statistics screen in-game don't include my two pitchers either. And I know I only brought them up to pitch in September and a week of October which is at most 37 days.

But I've accepted that's how OOTP works. I do believe it's 30 days in OOTP. Why? I don't know.

I changed the utility from 45 days to 100 days for maximum service days prior to this season...still the same list. Changed it to 0...still the same list. Maybe after the sim things will change as I left it at 100 for now.

Both those guys had to be up for more than just September last season, just based on number of BLB games they participated in, right?

Yeah you're right. I think I was curious about someone else on my team and thought it was them. I'll need to check.

It could have been a previous year and I lumped it because now that I think about it Robertson and Scheifelbein were mid season promotions.

Ignore me. I come up with weird nicknames.
