(AP) It's not often you have the most wins in the league and are still in a three-way tie for 1st in the division...but welcome to the life of a Kodiaks fan. Cali went 5-1 this week and are now 26-14 on the season but find themselves tied with Seattle and LAD who are both 25-13. Other great weeks belonged to Baltimore and New Orleans who also went 5-1 while SDR, Denver, Indy, Seattle and Washington all went 4-2. The tough week belonged to Maine who went 0-6 and have lost eight in a row while Ale mate Hartford went 1-5.

Performance of the Week
P Henry Williams - On May 10th against Montreal he threw a three hit shutout with seven strikeouts and two walks during a 4-0 Dinos victory. This is the 24 year olds second season in the BLB after being the 5th overall pick of the 2035 draft out of USC. Last year he was 4-11 with a 5.95 ERA but so far this year he's 3-2 with a 4.75 ERA with a 1.15 WHIP.
Injury of the Week
C Kaden 'Crunchy' Gaston - The 32 year old signed with Windy City in February for $60,000,000 over three years after spending his entire career in Washington. Known as a tough as nails catcher the last time he missed any time was 2033 when he was out for four days with an ankle bruise. Unfortunately on May 9th he suffered a hip strain running the bases against Miami and will be out for 3-4 weeks. He is hitting .280/.330/.421 with 4 HR's and 16 RBI's in 29 games.
Prospect of the Week
1B Jesse Braine - The 20 year old Running Rebel has power potential that the scouts just love, but he hasn't quite tapped into it yet. In 48 games this season for UNLV he hit .219/.359/.425 with 8 HR's and 19 RBI's. He has the ability to play in the infield or outfield and if he grows into the slugger he could be then BLB pitchers had better look out.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. The IL won the battle of the leagues again this week as they went 41-31 over the course of the 72 interleague games. Some team leaders: California posted a 1.67 ERA and led the league in AVG, OBP, SLG, and OPS, Wilmington scored 50 runs and swiped nine bases (but had a 6.50 ERA), Pittsburgh struck out 61 batters, Denver hit 21 doubles and Montreal only struck out 29 times.
2. With the BLB draft ongoing it's interesting to see that we have a 3rd round pick currently leading the league in average. Seattle's Johnny Thompson, drafted 59th overall out of high school in 2032, broke into the BLB last season when he hit .329/.363/.382 over 98 games. This year in 29 games he is hitting .422/.454/.514 while playing second base.
3. Johnny Swope has bumped his consecutive game hitting streak up to 21 and has hit safely in 23 of his last 25 games. Sadly for the 37 year old he's still only hitting .252/.306/.361 with 3 HR's and 12 RBI's in 36 games. Sadly for Pawtucket he's making $32,200,000 this season and is the second highest paid player in the league.
4. Only two teams remain in HS baseball as the Gulfport Admirals are taking on the Shawnee Swamp Dogs in the HS Championship. In the NCAA the Regionals start up this week with Cal vs Long Beach, Pacific vs UCLA, Florida State vs Baylor and Oklahoma State vs LSU. Finally in the Cape Cod League Brewster is up 1-0 on Harwich while Cotuit is up 1-0 against Wareham. The winners of those series will meet in the 2039 Cape Cup.
5. Some early attendance numbers have Batavia in the lead with 965k fans who have come to see the Red Jackets play baseball this year. Washington is second at 870k while Seattle comes in third at 836k. Slightly behind is Syracuse who as of today have had only 192k fans come to the ballpark. In their Thursday game against LAD a whopping 6955 fans showed up to watch them lose 4-2 in 11 innings.
