  • Virginia Celebrates in 1981

It has been announced today that the Virginia Colonials will celebrate their 35th and final season in Virginia during the 1981 season. To recognize the occasion, the team will wear a patch on their jerseys.

It's actually because it's the 35th and FINAL year in Virginia.

I guess this patch is more of a celebration more than a commemoration?

It's both. It's a "Thank You, Virginia!!! Please support us when we're in Detroit next year" thing.
