        0-3 vs. Virginia

Gm 1: Ben Irvin cruised through 6 innings and then came apart a bit in the 7th. He got no help from bullpen member Jesus Taborga who allowed 2 of 3 inherited runners to score. At the end of the day not a terrible performance by Irvin (6.0 IP | 7 H | 3 ER | 1 BB | 7 K), but his line would have looked a lot better had he not gone out for the 7th or had Taborga not come in and allowed the 2 inherited runs. The offense was held in check by Colonials starter Jerry Morgan and a cast of characters out of the pen. The Joes (Seagarra and Lukies) each went 2 for 4, but neither did any damage on the scoring sheet.
        VIR 5 PHI 1

Gm 2: A first inning error by normally sure-handed 4th OFer Dave Ibison doomed us from the start. Ray Minnoz fought through the early inning trouble to pitch 8.1 innings while allowing 4 Rs (2 earned) on 6 hits. Greg Josey was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and drove in the only Freedom run of the game.
        VIR 4 PHI 1

Gm 3: Joe Aurillo gave us a great chance to at least take 1 game of this series, but once again the offense failed to deliver. Aurillo was really good (8.0 IP | 3 H | 2 ER | 1 BB | 8 K), but had to give way to the bullpen with the score tied at 2. Jesus Taborga was called upon once again and gave up 2 ER in 1.2 innings of work. OT was 3 for 5 against his old team and Joe Seagarra chipped in 3 hits as well, including his 3rd HR of the year.
        VIR 4 PHI 2
No love for the scrappy Colonials???? I see a lot of "me me me" here and not much credit for a gutty performance without two of our best players. We're going to remember this... OH YES.. we will remember this.

Well, it is technically a review of how we did for the sim, so yeah, not a lot of ink goes in the direction of the other team.

Whatever it takes to get you jazzed up for the next meeting though, works for us.

And so begins the ground swell from BLB fans every where...

FREE HARRY KEPPEL! FREE HARRY KEPPEL! FREE HARRY KEPPEL!

Is this the year that "The Missing Link" finally gets to go play for a ring? Is it time for Hyundai to trade the "Greatest Hitter of All-Time" while his stock is at an all-time high?

Yep, it's all documented right there in the recap. You outclassed us in every possible way. We may petition the league to be contracted.

I don't think it's gonna happen...I've been trying for a while. I think Hyundai wants Keppel to retire wearing a Dinos jersey.

Can't say I blame him for that. But, with as well as he's playing right now, it may be the best time to trade him. I would think he could get a wicked package of Top Prospects and 1st Rounders right now. A team would be foolish not to pay big for a player of that caliber at that price for the next couple seasons.

You're right though... it would be VERY hard to let him go.

I agree. I was trying to create a package that was impossible to turn down...and it almost was. He had a hard time saying no but I can see not wanting to let a player like that go. I too think if he wants his team to compete in the next few seasons he should trade him. With only 2 players on the top prospect list there's not a lot to look forward to in Hyundai. So while the fans, and the owner, would hate to see him go it would be the best thing for the franchise.

(Rubisco...if you start to have 2nd thoughts about trading him let me know...I'll make my offer even better! :)

I could see a handful of teams that instantly become a top contender with Keppel AND could make an attractive offer. I think the Clowns could slot him in at 1B PLUS put together an impressive package (that's what she said) full of Top Prospects and picks.

I think most of the IL contenders would struggle to find a place to play him, but could likely find room as most of the Top Tier IL teams are set at 1B.

I would love to at least see him actively shopped. Would be fun to at least know the offers that came in.
