2034 Regular Season SIM 6 Complete - Next SIM Fri 10/4
6-0 for the Bulldogs as we finally got a chance to get some home cookin'. With one of the more dominant weeks in recent memory, we hit .376/.582/1.026 AS A TEAM.
The Bulldogs currently boast the top 2 players in batting average. Infielders Gil Porter and Jamie Hutter are batting .400 and .359 respectively and they are both RHB. Go figure.
The pitching was on point this week as well, posting a 1.83 ERA for the week. The most encouraging thing is that this is all happening while Snider is watching from the dugout with a pulled hammy.
A second consecutive 5-2 for the Bats keeps us in first place, but the Stout looks look a bloodbath again this season so it'll probably be short lived. We swept LA on the road before unfortunately dropping 2/3 at home to Seattle. The Pilots series kicks off our first homestand of the year, so hopefully we'll give the fans something to cheer about now that they finally get to see us play.
We weren't quite Baltimore at hte plate, but we did hit .352 as a team and swat 17 homers, so not too shabby. Rory Smith is hot and has rejoined the Top 20 Players list. Unfortunately I think it came at the expense of Josh Allen, who's fallen off. Our lineup should get a boost this week with the return of Justin Babbage, who's been out since Spring Training. We've got PIttsburgh and Maine coming to town, so we'll need to play well.
Seattle goes 4-3 on a Stout road week (2-2 BAT, 2-1 DC).
The Pilots are a much different look than recent seasons. Normally lead by our lineup full of mashers and little speed, Seattle ranks just 5th in the IL in runs scored, 6th in HRs but 6th in SB. The team is winning because of a much improved defense (normally ranks near the bottom of the league now at 5th in the IL) and a deep pitching staff that ranks 2nd in ERA.
In transactional news, Seattle signed 16 players this sim, most to minor league deals with a bonus. However, we did offer former #2 overall pick catcher Erik "The Tornado" MacDonough, IF Robby James and SP Pat Bice, major league deals. "The Tornado" has sat on the Kodiaks DFA for the past two months, not receiving an at bat at any level, but might push for the starting role in Seattle. James has sat waiting for a deal throughout Free-Agency but finally lowered his demands to a level we can accept.
Keep an eye on the transaction log as Seattle will probably be cutting upwards of 10 players this next sim.

I totally forgot about those guys... Oops! It might be the first time I ever used the DFA... My bad! Glad he's getting at bats!
