    Just random thoughts...

    What about...

No vote, no first round pick.

The voting is a fun part of the league, and to be honest, is available for a good length of time.

I'm afraid the computer will make some odd choices based on some obscure formula we don't see that might give awards to non-deserving players (small sample size, one stat only, etc.) Voting also allows for a variety of different views and opinions, as opposed to greatest WAR.

I was just thinking that people could still vote without the headache for a commish to track people down.

But I'm completely ok with all AI. Makes the selection process more realistic by including popularity.

Voting is tough. I enjoy doing it here but I'll admit I hate doing it for some of my other leagues. Depends on the involvement of other guys and the format.
        I love it.

I hate that you are in other leagues.

Going off of who was most valuable in the truest sense of the word as it pertains to baseball isn't a bad thing. WAR is fine.

Let's be honest, a lot of us make homer picks that are pretty undeserving as well. Letting the AI pick couldn't be too much worse. If I'm not mistaken, I think Matt mentioned a while back the selections don't really differ much anyway.

From my experiences entering votes they are pretty close. I'd be more for letting the AI sports writers make the pick (and have a little contraversy) than start fining people.

It's uncanny, actually. When entering the votes I always start with "Let Computer Fill" the ballot and then make adjustments to match our votes. There's usually just a handful of position swaps and very, very rarely a replacement of one of the three suggestions.

I say punish them into writing articles about the players!

Fair enough. I say we change it to AI and just monitor the first year or two and see if any really strange anomalies arise.

                      I enjoy voting.

                      Sad to see it go.

4 is a lot. Somehow I manage. Hopefully I will continue to do so with Baby Hernandez here in June.

I don't see it being a real problem. What might be affected most is my time to tinker. And, well, that's mostly a good thing for me. Less trades. Less dramatics.

I'd love to find an MLB league, but I'd want to start from the beginning with the Orioles, and I'd imagine keeping startup leagues active is difficult.

I'm down for another league...especially a MLB one. We should all find one and join.

If you're wanting to join an MLB league, it would have to be OOTP 18. Easier to find startup leagues using real teams. Most people prefer that over fictional.

The issue is start up leagues are most likely to die. I rarely ever join a league unless it's been around for a while. BLB was different because it was OS and I was familiar with Andrew / Stu as a regular poster there.

Four? Four! The jealous girlfriend in me hates hearing this.

The BLB needs more from Carlos.
