    • I've been trying to answer the question of where Joey Long debuts.

OSA has him 4/6/5, with only one point left to gain in stuff.

My scout rates him 4/6/6—again, with one more point remaining for stuff.

He's not on A-ball player who needs development.

If I put him in my BLB bullpen immediately, he'd probably get that extra point so long (hehe) as he pitches in relief.

Or I could start him in A-ball and put him on an accelerated path.

Or he could debut in AA or AAA and stay there for a few months, maybe the rest of the year, and debut in the BLB rotation next year.

It'll depend in part on how the Guides look after the draft.

Not sure how much you listen to the arrows, but I tend to think they are mostly right.

When I drafted Salazar in the fifth round last year, I felt he might be bored at A ball and when the draft was entered, I immediately saw a promotion arrow next to his name. So I placed him as the closer in AA and the results speak for themselves.

Long may get that same treatment though I wonder if his undeveloped pitches will keep your scout from pushing for his promotion too soon.

The pitches are what make me think minor league seasoning might help him. Otherwise it wouldn't be a debate—he'd be straight to the BLB.

            • I like the Palmer pick there for Baltimore. He was near the top of my remaining list. Great nickname, too.

              • We move up to take RF Ian McCallister here. He has the worst intangibles of anyone I've ever drafted, but he's the best player on the board left by a mile. OSA has him 4-4-6-6-4 and my scout 5-4-8-6-4. Which is close enough for me. His stats line-up with the ratings in his first full year as a starter. He's got 11 HRs and more importantly he has 40 BB to his 40 Ks. If the power is true, I can deal with the lack of contact and the awful, awful intangibles.

                    Mine did too.

I had to get home to see why I had him on my draft list though. I was at work questioning my own reasonings like my name was Z.

Thanks Z, seems that my scout is using properly his money

                        • We grabbed Shaw, a lot to like for a 3.2 pick in what seemed like a weak draft.

I'm on Auto now. We have two 4's, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10...we'll trade them all for a 3rd whenever if someone wants to play the lottery cheap.

                          • Shaw was the last one of my list too...

Now it's gonna be hard to find "decent" players out there, unless you want to compete in your lower teams, thing that I am starting to consider :)

I was wondering but not sure, please confirm with me, green and red arrow is the assistant suggestion of roster move?

                              • Ed Attig is a straight scouting hunch pick. Since we have 30 spots now, I'm looking forward to the two teenage catchers I drafted developing together.

In a "down draft" I always try to take the high risk guys because why not.
