I don't think he Clayed anyone. Just helped his own guys.

The bell curve theory has some merit though. I wonder if Markus would divulge anything.

That's a great theory. What about the foreign guys? Haven't seen a stud since Clay stopped running things.

That could be sample size... funclown's closer is pretty solid.

Or Mauricio Granados... AAAA star. You interested in a trade for him?

Fuji was probably has the biggest question mark. I remember Clay being a bit shocked you landed him.

I don't remember his budget, but I think that one season he did have some money to burn. You got him, he didn't hence Daly started becoming a god after falling off.

what is the conclusion from Claygate? He edited his own guys and it is more probable than not that he messed around with others?

In the end if your a loser like me, its fun to actually look back at the stats of 'Logo' , 'Ironfist' and the rest of the steroid group. I'll never know if the curious start of Del Evans in game 7 of the 91 Brewmaster was his doing or not. All I know is there was no chance in hell our young upstarts were going to be beat the mighty 119 win team to usher in the Dynasty of the smartest man in the room. It is what it is. No bitterness.

I was a bit naive for those first few seasons, then poor Jistic got to hear me bitch about it the rest of the 90's. I'm glad its over, but now it makes for interesting reading. Also adds a bit of a twist to the BLB.

I think Fuji is just a small sample size. With only 8 INTL players a season the odds of getting a superstar are slim.

As far as just editing his own players and injury ratings it's obvious he didn't just mess with Virginia. Look at the history...just look at it. Clay took over in 1990. Brad and I took over in 2002.

That doesn't happen in an online league just by adding a few good players to your team and making them indestructible. He was actually gearing up for another run again in '00 and '01 with new guys like Knudson.

                Regardless...it's time for the SIM.

Him editing his players is for sure. The mystery is whether or not he edited others or was it an just an unintended consequence of his personal editing.

I tend to lean to the former because of oddities that we saw. The biggest for me was Sau being made of glass yet never losing his durable status. Just not a likely occurrence, IMO.

I think Sau got played with. -2 drops for a guy in his prime plus right AFTER the contract extension. Add in UMD and Clay's "friendship" just to many coincidences.

I'm convinced Clay created/edited a few players. It wasn't just wanting to be the smartest guy in the room. He wanted to play God. Like he treated our league as his single player league.

Wanna have some real fun http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/...ayer_2502.html

See if you can tell the years 'Logo' was edited. ( I JUST LOVE his 55 stolen bases when he was 38)

'Ironfirst' is alot harder to tell HTML (Besides his commodore PC like stats), but if your ingame and we still have it you got to like his velocity recovering not once but TWICE. Again once a guy's velocity starts to drops, they can maintain for awhile, but never increase.

Personally I think it started with him due to a major injury in 1989 and he saw he took a hit probably when he came back in 1990. Once he edited him, it just became too tempting.

Matt was right. This was never going to end.

I took over in 1990. He messed with that team starting with 53 win season. He injured all my players and/or edited their potentials/actuals. Look at Sau, Castor and Abe Hernandez and the injuries always were sketchy.

                              1994 was straight up bullshit.
