Before anyone bitches about the last team option year, make sure you notice the ten million dollar buyout.
Also make sure you notice the year previous is a Vesting Option for 550 AB's which I'm sure he won't quite get to.

I actually offered much more for a 3 year down...but those 2 years he'll never see pushed him over the edge.

Which I'm thankful for because I forgot to withdraw the offer after I got Big Jon from WC. There wouldn't have been room in the OF.

              It's 550 plate appearances, which he'll hit easily if he's a full-time player.

If he falls off and can't play against southpaws anymore, he won't. That's the deal.

I'm happy to pay him big money if he's an everyday player. I've seen too many guys fitting his profile crash against lefties at age 31-32.

                Ah...thought it was AB's.

                Either way I'm thankful!

Or, you could bench him. Which is why it's there to avoid that 10m buyout. The point is no one cares about the options we make at this point so it's all good. But at the same time, don't tout the buyout without at least mentioning the vesting option.

31-32 is when a lot of OFers crash in general. My scout has his left splits at 5-5-5-4-4 so your probably safe with the "vest".

I want to win. If Brown is good enough to help me win, he'll play and get paid. If he's not, he won't, and he won't get paid.

We are so much like the NFL in many ways. To me none of this is a biggie. Wish this was the real world. Hate the baseball union.

I don't really care either - we all do it. I was just saying that 10m buyout on the last season of a contract is never going to get paid. Especially (how well) Z runs his team money wise.

Torres isn't getting paid the last 2 seasons at 39 and 40.

Lmao, anyone want to take bets on Lucca's final contract year?

My bet says no, but never know. Guys been a machine with no sign of drop off.
