A lot of 1 run games for us. Just waiting for the bullpen to tighten up a bit. Getting Durham back would help too.

      Some big injuries this sim.

        Pawtucket 2-5.

The Ale Gauntlet is tough even when we were good. We battled, but right now we just don't have the horses. It is nice to see Cosio play solid. Also, sorry P Iván Pérez we barely knew ya:((((((

        Back to the fun stuff:

Gomez back on the top 100 for the moment from A ball. FINALLY hit his first homerun!!

The AA has a nice core going with SS Orlando Saucedo + 3B Yoshiyuki Ito tearing the cover off the ball. When Boyce joins the group in mid-june should see for a formidable middle IF. Also in AA, Oscar Vazquez and Jimmy Esterson are making a strong case for a move to AAA. We've been very patient with these two guys not rushing them and it might be starting to pay off. (298 & 220)

Again not a flashy system, but nice pieces for the future.

WoW Thought this was the collaspe week. Gotta love it till we fall to earth. Keifer coming back so we will start losing. The Wave had a mini Tsnumai to start the season and we are only a game up on Virginia. OMG are you kidding.

5-2 as order is restored with the return of Baltimore's GM. Or maybe it was just the fact that we faced Batavia and Philly :). Our pitching staff posted a 2.25 ERA with rookie, Sadaharu Katsura putting together a nice 1ER, 3H, 5K performance in 7 IP. We are still blowing a couple of games with late inning inconsistencies, but I expect that to slow down a bit after the changes we made to the pitching staff this sim. The return of Christian and Trujillo this week, plus Bornstein next week should also help round our offense back out.

Our pitching staff continues not to not take shit from anybody.

Special Notes: Jos Guzman and ngelo Gonzles were ejected in the 3rd inning for igniting a bench-clearing brawl.

                  3-4.

Things have been going better for this team. The pitching is there. Starters ERA is mostly the result of each guy taking a knock (except Fitz because he's been lights out for us). This week Lindsey, Fitz, Mueller and Bollati pitched their hearts out. And went 2-2 to show for it. Disheartening.

Offense is clearly a problem. I expected it would be. I can only cross my fingers that things will bounce our way a bit more because the starting pitching is doing what I wanted. The bullpen had its blowups. Juan Jose Gonzalez had a huge ratings drops despite zero injuries and an amazing 1998 season. I love how organizations have guys that get these random sudden ratings jumps from their minor leaguers - something I've never had happen in the nearly 20 seasons I've ran this team - and instead I get saddled with a guy that has an amazing season and losses everything talented about himself for no reason but randomness. Perfect.

So my pen is taxed, and it should be. Gonna have to call up some of the kids in waiting.

I just find it funny how we start this shit against you and Carolina. Even if we can't beat you we can still try to beat you lol.

Still proud of the ex Playboys leading Wilmington into the new millennium. Again there will be more available soon, so don't miss out on the next sale!

I wonder what is the record for homeruns in one month?

                        Rex has 10 already.

I remember having a guy with at least 12.... but I'm not sure it's tracked anywhere.

Chavez has 8... and is hitting .500... couldn't be hotter. He likes the move to 1B.

Yea, I'm pretty sure I remember both Castor and Woobury having at least 12. Now that I think about it, I think Chamissa had 14 one year.

Solid week for the offense. Pitching still needs to be better.

Big week with Baltimore on the schedule coming up.
