Denver has opted to eat and release Clint Johnson and Jonah McCarthy from the last year of their deals.

We never ever ever give out Player Options. We decided to this one time and it burned us with McCarthy. Johnston is getting pushed out. Better talent in the infield, his services were no longer needed.

It'll be another bad year in Denver but there will be improvement. We have a very young roster.

Just curious...why not try to move him on a "slanted deal" to save you some of that money?

McCarthy + Cash for a 10th Rounder?

Seems like that would save you some money off your bottomline and someone make that deal.

Because I've already offered him and no one wanted him.

As I've said, I'm done trading in this league. The reasons or direction guys take baffles me.

I'm gonna be profitable again anyway. His money does nothing to my bottom line.

Just curious. I'd be honest, I'd have done that deal with you. I'd platoon McCarthy at 1B and occasional C for basically nothing.

I know... everyone says that after the fact... just curious. I just don't look through trade blocks often.
