What an awful, awful SIM. We went 1-6, RP Joe Sanchez suffered a setback while on the DL (as we feared), we lost rookie Dave Ritchason to injury for 2 months (after he actually hit the ball this week), and Denver had a player in their organization that had a child die. Terrible SIM.

6 1 run losses in a row! Some things just never change. I would be pissed if I thought we were good.

I blame myself for Roes losing his son.

Words of advice: do not make minor league changes while half asleep. I don't even remember promoting Roes to AAA. I even left his spot open in AA.

I killed his son. It's a sad day in Denver.

I said that our pitching needed to get better, and we responded by giving up 9 runs total over seven games. I'll take it.

Now if we could get the bats going along with the improved work on the mound....

Swept Pawtucky but managed to lose 3 of 4 one run games to Pitt. We get our first shot at Maine and then a hot Dukes team. Ricky Rangel is ballin and Valencia has started his return hot.

5-2 for the week, I'll take it.

Swept the mighty Muckducks and split the series with the surprisingly, scrappy Kodiaks. Looks like a lot of the young Bulldogs are coming into their own at the same time.

With names like Betts, Maekawa, Burley, Baez and Duarte, looks like the IL ROY may be a tough vote.

Very happy to see Duarte's name in the mix, some degree of value in the Dimmick deal. Hoping that my OF is set for a stretch.

A 7-0 week at home against Los Angeles and Mississippi gives us 8 straight wins.

I see some good things, but the majority of our games have been at home thus far (11-2) and I don't think we're going to hit .323/.385/.504 as a team this season. Hopefully we stay hot when the bats cool down a little. But it's good to be piling up some wins while we're beating the cover off the ball.

We have also committed a DL-low 6 errors and our 3.57 ERA should keep us competitive. The hitting may not be sustainable, but I hope those numbers are.

Took care of business in the Stout winning series from both Washington (2-1) and Morgantown (3-1). Bullpen is still our clear weakness and gloves aren't much better.

Chavez left the yard for the first time and is starting to warm up a bit with his power.

Speaking of power, OSA liked Doug Gill to be in the HR title conversation this year, which I didn't see. Fast forward 3 weeks and he leads the team with 5 bombs and looks like he may actually be the 30-35 HR guy that I need to replace some of those Logo bombs.

                            Around the League...

                            - Oh Logo...

                            - I've been selling the value of Jonah McCarthy since early last season and he really looks great in Denver.

                            - Linty may be in the "Betts is better than I expected" camp... But I feel like he's the player my scout loved. Nice player. Good get for the Kodiaks.

                            - How bout them Snappers?

And for anyone who doesn't venture out of the BLB threads... Andrew and Mrs Commish picked up their highest rated prospect in league history when they're daughter was born on Monday night. Teagan Tino Stevens is doing well.

2nd worst batting average, 2nd worst ERA and on top of that we get swept by Baltimore. Oh well we are sitting at 9-10. Sooner or later we'll figure it out.
