This is a quote from Nero who wrote how to roster manage without midweeks.
When making a trade you need to keep a couple of things in mind. All players that join your roster are by default inactive. This is not something you need to worry about as trades are executed after the games are simulated which enables you to activate and fit newly acquired players into your gameplans and depth charts.

When the trade goes through wont it be after the game? And if it goes through before the game wont my new QB be inactive as the quote suggests?

    Thanks

. Running a special midweek for a trade is something we have never done and it looks bad if I run one in a trade involving me (Also, I wont be home to run a sim tonight if I could). With that said, immediately after I process the trade, Reese will be on the Riders roster. Since I will run the trade before I sim the games, he will be on the Riders week 5 roster Now Nero may be right about Reese being inactive and if thats the case than Reese wont start. If he is wrong then Reese would start because the CPU automatically starts the highest rated player at the position.

QB is a position I need help at. Kaplan is good but throws a ton of interceptions. Reese im hoping limits the Ints.

SO in my mind I gave up a 2nd for a 65 rated QB. If he fails to produce better numbers then Kaplan, not a big loss.
This trade will show if I suck as a GM. Reese has always shown talent but he's too turnover prone and inaccurate for me. He has been a poor deep thrower for me but that could be because of the Wrs. It looks like a lot of picks but its really a 1st and a 2nd for him (I dont buy that if the pick is a year from now its worth less). Also, I had no plans to sign him this year so I'll take a first and a 2nd for someone I had no plans to sign.

I agree also. What I was saying is that my cap space is going to be horrible. So I would have traded that 1st round pick anyway. So I feel that I am just out a 2nd a couple seasons from now.

I guess Kaplan starts one more game. Dont want to take the chance of a roster mess up. I will release an inactive guy that Reese will fall into.
