Has anybody factored in the contracts of both players here? They are both once year removed from signing ridiculous contracts loaded with bonus that will be eaten up by port city and the salary that Utah will pay is less than 10m for both players this season

It should stand. It's not exactly the best deal, but I don't think it really threatens league integrity.

I would be more than happy to have this go to an open auction... That way at least there is a chance for the two players to go to another team that is not my rival.
Aston has already said he will nullify the deal and a couple of owners have already said they would chip in more. Just sayin'.

In 19 days i had 1.......... offer of a 3rd for Stortz 6th year OLB with good bars, So i thought it was safe to assume no one would offer more then a 2nd if i was lucky for an 10th year WR wanting big money to resign.
So i'd ask my fellow league members if Stortz was a 3rd pick, would 3, 3rds and Collins be fair for a 1st?

Trying my best to get better but starting with Port City, has made it a tough hole to climb out of.
The 1st big trade i made might of been a huge overpay which i agree with, but with that being said by the time my rosters ready to compete on a regular basis, Collins and Stortz will be too long in the tooth to help. The 1st helps me more moving forward, more so then those 2 players. Not to mention the 3rds seem to be a shot in the dark at best. This edition of the game's Draft is brutally unpredictable.

This is my last post on the matter but I would like to ask a question if I may.
Why give both players a combined $75m bonus to sign a year ago and then flog them for next to nothing, to a friend and without offering on the trade block?
I honestly don't want to cause friction here but I am struggling to understand the whole thing. I am curious if nothing else...

I don't think that this trade is as bad as some of you are making out. I agree that it looks lopsided at first glace, but I don't think I would have given much more than a first for the package that he put together.
I was the person that offered a third for Stortz. I was interested in him, but wouldn't have paid a first or even a second for him. Especially on a one year deal where he was going to miss the first four games. He was on the trade block for quite a while and if nobody else offered anything for him you all can't be complaining about how good he is now that he's been traded.
Dixon Collins is a very good receiver. He's also 32 and has north of 900 catches in his career. If you're making a championship push this year he'd be a great pickup that could put you over the top. There are a handful of teams in this category. For everybody else, he's a short-term answer to a long-term problem. In short, I think he'd be facing the same problem dealing Collins that he had with Stortz. A lot of people claiming that he's too good for such a small return, but nobody offering anything better. Personally, I wouldn't give much more than a third for him.
So from my perspective, you're looking at the equivalent of four third round picks for an early first round pick. Even if you're going to say that Collins and Stortz are each worth a second, two seconds and two thirds for a first round pick isn't a crazy deal. I would value these as if they were middle of the round picks. Port City's is a 2044 pick and who knows where his team will be in a couple years and Waco's is probably going to be a later pick. If we consider these as 16th or 17th picks for each round you get a chart value of 1,205 which is about the equivalent of the #12 pick in the draft. Given Utah's current record and remaining schedule, I don't think that this is too far off.
The money issue is interesting in that Utah is basically getting off the hook for paying either of these guys this year. At the same time these were both FA pickups during a rebuilding phase for Port City, so he didn't really lose anything either. He didn't have anybody else using up that cap space, so why not blow it on a couple of guys that have trade value down the line?
Does this deal threaten the integrity of the league? I don't think it does. I don't think that either team has an unfair advantage over any of the rest of us at this point. My opinion might be different if Bridge traded those players to Boston or Brooklyn.
