  • Morgantown 2026 Block

    You ready for this?

WR Rico Knight (68/68) 7th yr: Gone

SS Leslie Morris (46/54) 3rd yr: Gone

RT Shawn Blake (77/77) 10th yr: Gone.

QB Brett Meyer (47/47) 15th yr: I love this guy, he's done nothing but produce for me. Now that I've traded Rico Knight I think it's time to start developing some chemistry with a new QB. Britt still has a lot to offer this year and won't kill your budget as I'll be eating most of his salary. Need a starter you can trust? Look no further.

Wow! That's a very uncommon offering.

          Wow!!

You plan on going with the ground game garion?

The rest of us in the division have a top end WR, and I'm guessing Charlotte will get theirs with the first pick this year, or are you planing on rebuilding already?

Yeah, no kidding. As usual, all you kids with the money are making me very sad as I watch everyone just go by. "Hey, I liked that go. Oh. " That's FA, in a nutshell, for me for the past three years or whatever.

Motor City did some moderate spending on a fair number of players, which should add up to a lot - but I think they got an outstanding triple-threat player in 8th-year corner Kerry Carpenter. Excellent bump coverage and INT ability, and he follows that up with ST coverage play and is one of the most talented kick returners in the league, to boot.

Boston sends 2027 and 2028 1st round picks.

Morgantown sends WR Rico Knight and my 2027 2nd round pick (by way of Waco).

That was the cost. Not a bad deal for either one.

I actually spoke with Mike about making a trade last season when I wasn't feeling too good about the team early in the season. I knew when I put him on the block that he'd be interested and I think we made a good trade for both our teams.

As why I'm doing this, well, I actually did better last season than I expected (ie. drafting 1.27) and after the draft class was revealed I thought Rico would get good value as he's still in his prime. The thing is, my team continued to win last year while he was injured.

Anyway, I've been staring down the barrel of the gun for a few seasons wondering how long Britt Meyer's gonna hang around (and be relevant) and figured I might want to load up on picks so I can make some moves in the future. That's really what it comes down to.

Also, I kinda wanted to change things up and get younger.

Bumping. S. Blake held up through training camp. Still willing to move him.

Meyer dropped, but he's my backup now. Still willing to move him too.

It's a crime that Britt should sit for the likes of C.J. Jones!

Even before he dropped in TC I was planning on seeing if Jones had anything for us. I had considered it last season but we kept winning, so I stuck with him.

I think CJ Jones actually provides me with a better skill set than Meyer at this point in his career. I think.
