  • Kalispel 2054 State of the Franchise Address

Kalispel had a breakthrough year in 2053, as many of my long-term plans for the team actually came together for a 13-3 season, albeit a short postseason. We hope to put up a better fight vs human teams next year by adding a couple new pieces in the draft combined with the further development of my youngest players, and the opportunity to install a much better playbook. The Stags were the youngest team in the league last year, having built the team almost exclusively through the draft and undrafted rookie signings. Despite that we broke several league records, had our best year ever, and most of our key pieces are signed up for next couple years.

QB Robbie Farr saw his first all-league selection, first OPOY, and first MVP, due to finally breaking through in terms of QB rating (88.7) and also setting new all-time OSFL records of 7,305 yards passing, and 57 TDs. He is on track to rewrite the history books, just starting his 6th season in the league.

WR Donte Haynesworth also broke an OSFL record by catching 154 passes in a season, but came 21 yards shy of breaking his own record of 2,227 receiving yards from last year. Entering his 5th year in the league, he's also got his sights on breaking the greatest OSFL WR records.

WR#2 Derrick Sawyer put up a solid 1447yd season with 94 catches, while deadly TE duo Francisco Moss and Dustin Daschle posted career-best seasons (109 for 1191yds, and 90 for 1312yds) and even WR#3 Les Filby broke 1000 yards on only 66 catches for a total of FIVE receivers over 1000 yards.

On defense we had one of the best pass defense numbers in the league all season long, as many young prospects filled their potential in the face of two serious early season injuries to my starting safeties Shurtz and Fronimopolous, and a season-ending leg injury to LB Laliberte our primary coverage LB. DE Marvin Wilikins moved outside after playing RDT last year and had an amazing season, setting the OSFL record with 56 QB hurries!. Sadly, I'll be saying goodbye to DE Pascasio after 3 years as a stag, and his best season. He was well worth the 3 year $75mil I paid him. 2nd year man Efrain Reed at NT will provide a solid anchor at D-line as we try to replace our LDE.

Having the 1.26 and 1.27 picks in the draft, we hope to secure a couple new startable players and continue adding depth as the Kalispel organization sets it's sights on a Championship Run!!!!

Very nice! What’s a guy have to do to get a better rating than 88? 7300 yards doesn’t cut it?

It has largely to do with TD/INT ratio, and yards/attempt. Sadly the rating system isn't impressed with my quantity first, quality second approach :)
