    2051 - Regular season review

    Once again the Sharks were led by QB Brendan Ciszek to the top of the AC East by a large margin, securing the #1 Seed in the process throughout the play-offs and presenting another strong case for the MVP of the season. Ciszek threw for 4073 yards, 33 TDs and 9 INT for a passer rating of 97.6. In the other side of those throws 2 pass catchers eclipsed the 1000 yard this season, the young Dylan Buckner hauled in 66 balls for 1046 yards showing excellent route running skills and being tremendously dangerous with the ball in his hands accumulating 409 YACs. The steady semi-veteran Branden Johnson caught 77 balls for 1011 being even more dangerous in space after catch adding 585 YACs. Both combined 19 touchdowns.

    The running game was again a petite committee between Poston and Dayes (who likely is in his last year as a Shark), both ran for 1432 yards combined and most important being really versatile in the passing game adding a combined 858 yards on the air, do you know how many times these 2 did put the ball in the end zone? 16 times, terrific performance.

    The Sharks are focusing their offense, believe it or not in the offensive line and funny enough, the least rated of all the starters had the best season, OT Bubba Burton started 15 games as a LT as we couldn't find anyone better during the Draft / Off-season and now, is really challenging Sharkn20 with his play, do we need another LT? Or do we ride Burton's wave? (Hint to Hawaii). Bubba executed 37.5% of his blocks properly and just allowed 2 Sacks in 561 passing plays. We are quite confident in this group and while we are always looking to improve their cohesion is invaluable.

    The defense ranked low in Total Yardage Gained, middle of the pack in points per game, but still a Top-10 defense in situational football, which is always our main football. We definitely will have to work a ton, specially with the former Wayfinder's LB R. Foster suffering a damaged ACL in the final 2 weeks of the season.
    The pass rush was led by Brewer and Chapman with 7 Sacks each one but with a poor 4.5 and 5.2 PRPct, not even breaking the Top 20 in the league. We are not going to even talk about interceptions as we only achieved 12 interceptions in the whole season with Otis Loy and Tyrone Watson scoring a Top-20 mark of 82.5 PDPct, which is by Sharkn20 standards, not good enough.

    Now time to re-focus and enjoy the play-offs, while they last!

    Farewell to RB Bart Poston
    Bart Poston was the perfect prototype of RB at 5'11 and 217 lbs. Coming out Hawaii college where he showed uncanny speed, SuperB instincts, you could see that he was able to read the holes opened by the OL before they were in there, then making defenses pay with his ability to burst through them and shift that extra year to hit pay-dirt from any position on the filed. Poston was equally good out of the backfield with fantastic hands, able to catch any football thrown his way. The only concern out of college was his END, as he fatigued quickly, limiting his versatility to 1st and 2nd downs.

    The Sharks traded the 2048 1st Round pick (Which went to become the Super Bowl champions pick at #32) to pick him 2.1 in 2047, thanks to Kalispel who promptly agreed to the trade, giving Sharkn20 an excellent weapon to work with.

    In 10 seasons with the Sharks Poston accumulated 9088 (Regular season yards) + 990 (play-off yards) on the ground, for a 4.16 avg, 244 10+R and 15 100 yard games. He also added 2891 yards in the air with 347 receptions, and an excellent combination of 68 touchdowns.

    He finished his career as an overachiever for the Sharks, being listed in the team as an all-time:
    #3 in Rushing attempts
    #3 in Rushing yards
    #7 in Yards per Carry (After his average plummeted to 3.87 / 3.47 in the last 2 seasons.
    #4 in Rushing touchdowns
    #4 in 100 yards rushing
    #10 in points scored
    #4 in Yards from Scrimmage
    #5 in All-Purpose Yards
    POG --> 7 times
    POW --> 37 mentions
    4 Superbowl Appearances (1 Ring in 2047)

    A well deserved place in the Ohio River HOF is waiting for him in 5 years time, terrific career, thanks Mr. Poston! #SaluteBartPoston #PostonTerrificCareer #PostonThanksForTheMemories.
