DOG POUND SENT AWAY WITH THEIR TAILS BETWEEN THEIR LEGS

Weather it was a strong final push during the regular season to secure a playoff birth, an unprecedented run during the playoffs to secure a birth in the OSFL Championship Game, or the unexpectedly close loss against Port City that left the Bulldogs 4 points away from a Championship... Many felt that the Huntsville Bulldogs were up and coming for 2049 and poised to push for another Championship run.

Even during the off-season, the team seemed to be adding all the right pieces to become and even stronger contender for 2049, and after the first 4 games of the season (4-0) it all looked well for the Bulldogs... But then the wheels came off... With a week 6 bye week looming and a week 7 game against Camden on the horizon, many felt that team lost focus and took for granted that they were facing a very strong Chicago, despite the 1-2 record, team in week 5. While many player deny that they were looking past Chicago, the team learned the hard way how tough it is to over come losses against teams that many in the league thought you should have won. Over the next 13 weeks the team would lose more games then it won and when the 2049 season came to an end, the team was on the outside looking in despite having a 9-7 record on the season.

    2050 - CHAMPIONSHIP OR BUST

Many around the league figured that after a rough 2049 season that the Front Office was not going to be happy with the outcome. That reflected in the teams decision to replace their entire coordinator staff for 2050. Even though the team kept Head Coach Bauer and Asst Head Coach Devine, the writing in on the wall for the team and coaching staff.

The good news is that, despite losing franchise CB Dan Rinaldi to retirement, the main players are still intact and many are working extremely hard during the off season to help the team make huge stride next season.

    Key Losses

CB - Dan Rinaldi - Retirement
LB - Jason Hopkins - Released

    Key Additions

    None At This Time

    Draft

Pick 1.19 - Alejandro Mulligan - Michigan State - Defensive End

One of the top DEs in this years draft and extremely fast on the corners, the team felt that there was a major need for a player who could put a lot of pressure on the QB. Pairing Mulligan with Kulik, Williamson, and Finch should make for one of the strongest D-Lines in the league

Pick 2.18 - Ezra Stephens - Kansas State - Running Back

A major need in Huntsville is a proven running game to offset the teams powerful passing attack. Ezra figures to be a strong option in both the running and passing game. The team feels that if he can have a good camp, there is a chance he can be a 3 down back for the team going forward

Pick 3.11 - Ryan Monroe - Eastern Michigan - Quarterback

Monroe is a quarterback with a lot to prove, many have questioned his size and talent for years and Huntsville feels that learning under Fisk could make Monroe the QB of the future for the organization. Could that future begin this year? Rumors are Fisk is being floated around in trade talks.
