  • Waco Warhawks 2048

As this is my second year as Waco GM, I am getting pretty excited. Only 16 players remain from when I arrived, so I a feel much more in possession of this team. With the new patch, I am stoked to finally be into FOF8.

At QB, I am confident in Herman Pritchett's abilities. He threw 3 INTs to Axel Naretta in the playoffs, but that is rare- only 9 on the season and 14 in the last 2 seasons. At backup we have former 1st round pick Deion Greenham who is developing nicely.

RB We expect a good year from Charlie Schultz. Nickolas Hopkins is a solid backup, but Schultz is a workhorse, despite his 10th season.

We are thrilled about 1st round WR Devan Graham. We got a steal with him at #21. We expect him to give this offense the downfield threat it lacked last season. Kris Cook should be a solid addition. We like Tyrone James. We lost our top TE and WR from last season but overall we improved for a lot less money.

Glad we kept C Myron O'Donnell, our best offensive lineman. I'd say overall we have a capable, but not great, OL. Our QB has great sense rush and Schultz is a very good RB so I think we'll be fine.

On the defensive line, we'll miss Lorenzo Lofton for most of the year, but he will return late in the season. Our DEs should be able to generate pressure. Hopefully 255 OLB Heath Sanford can generate pass rush out of the DE spot. We have ok, but not great, run stoppers at DT.

We have some depth at LB this year, especially run stoppers, and a couple of guys who will play DE.

We are also deep at secondary. We expect CB Kris Holliday to develop into a top corner, and we have some other good cover guys. We lack in star power but make up for it in depth.

I'd say this team is similar in ability to our 2047 squad, which won the AFC South at 9-7 and got trounced in the playoffs. If WR Devan Graham and CB Kris Holliday develop by the season's end, I'd say we we are improved. Port City is definitely the best team in the division going into the year, and we only won because they were plagued by injuries last season. Mempis also looks good, watch out for QB Louie Andrews from Elkhart Lake, WI.

I like how you scout your opponents in the division. I may have to adapt that to my write ups!
