  • Coaching Rumour Thread

This thread will be used to inform about possible Head Coaching / Offensive or Defensive Coordinators interviews, happening around the Country.

You MAY post that you are bringing an OC / DC / Assistant from another team for a Vacancy / Replacement, in your team before to be elegible to hire them!

You can also hide that name between other OCs / DCs, so you donīt give too many tips to another teams. For example you can bring 3/5/7/11 Coordinators to your facilities to interview them

Longtime Cutters Offensive Coordinator James Simmons shown the door.

It's not often a 1,681 rushing yard 10 touchdown performance results in someone losing a job. But when the running back in question had topped 2,000 yards each the previous two seasons and the franchise is used to even greater performances from likes of Curtis Shea and Burt Newman, that's exactly what's happening in Camden.

The Cutter's 68 year old offensive coordinator, who has been with the team for 13 seasons and who had signed a new contract extension just last season, is out as today the team ownership has announced they are moving in a different a direction. But just how different remains to be seen.

Team officials are said to have been seen meeting with current Charlotte Sentinal's OC Howie Forman. Forman's familiar style of offense and history of working with feature backs like Al Lindsey would seem to make him the perfect safe, conservative fit. However Camden isn't the only team Forman has been rumored to be meeting with. And there are also whispers circulating that the team ownership might be finally willing to abandon it's long standing feud with the forward pass and finally bring their offense into the 21st century, or at least the late 20th.

Other name being bandied about include former Morgantown head coach Floyd Smith, current Anchorage coordinator Greg Glenn (who, like Forman, is in the last year of his contract), and perhaps most intriguingly current Yuma Aces coordinator Carlton Stewart. Stewart has gained a reputation as something of a QB guru after the phenomenal rise of Dean Holmes. Stewart was also rumored to have been seen in New Jersey recently, and despite my best efforts this author cannot conceive of any possible reason to visit the state if not for a job offer.

Of course there is always the chance this Cutter's ownership will forgo any big named signings and use this opening as an opportunity to reaffirm it's miserly ways. They could always choose some unknown coordinator from the college ranks or try to snatch up some desperate, recently fired cast-off on the cheap. There are, after all, two great traditions in Camden football and the running game is just one of them. If you have any doubts just watch them once again refuse to use free agency to address their leaky secondary or fix their woeful front seven. Not if it would mean parting with even two thin dimes.

Memphis Looking at New Direction for Defense

Today, the Memphis Pharaohs organization has announced that it is looking to replace Defensive Coordinator Lenny McCleary. Los Alamos Osprey's Assistant Coach Horace Vance has agreed to meet with Memphis Owner Nathan Barnes. Barnes indicated that he would prefer to run a 3-4 style defense and thinks that Vance could be a good fit in the organization. The decision on whether McCleary will be replaced will be a last minute decision, as replacing a high quality DC such as McCleary is a tough decision for Barnes.

A source close to the Phoenix Riders has indicated the team will definitely pursue the services of Defensive Coordinator (Lenny McCleary) if he is replaced in Memphis as the new Riders GM would like to run a 4-3 under scheme...

The Lake County Xtreme made their first move of the offseason firing second year head coach Bill Steidl and replacing him with former Chicago Reapers defensive coordinator Sammie Shields. Chicago ranked 28th in points allowed last season. The Lake County fans are wondering how much of an upgrade this is.

More changes to the Lake County coaching staff are expected over the next few days...

Rumor has it that the Utah Golden Spikes are looking to upgrade their teams morale by hiring former Cougar out of Louisiana State, linebacker and waterboy, Bobby Boucher. Only time will tell what role he will play for the Spikes who had a disappointing season last year due to injury problems. Though the extra salinity in the water in the Salt Lake Valley provides an electrolyte advantage for the players, the recent heat and drought in the semi arid state has had an opposite effect. "Too many electrolytes," says Boucher.

Some hardcore football fans from Lousiana are excited for their state hero, one proclaiming about Bobby Boucher, "He can do it! All night long!" Some of the female fans baring their chests in support of the waterboy. Boucher commenting that, "They showed me their boobies, and I liked them too!"
