Pending approval from Commissioner Aston.
The Utah Bees would like to make the following announcement:
With all respect to the great history of this Utah Bees team, its past owner Aston, the Utah Bees Organization would like to announce a change of name and logo.
As the owner of this franchise for 2 seasons now. I would like to make this team officially my own by changing the name of this Utah franchise to the
Utah Golden Spikes.
Reflecting on the great and often controversial history of the great State of Utah. The Golden Spike is a great symbol of the American Dream. The last spike of the first Transcontinental Railroad was laid in May, 1869 on Promontory Summit in the then Utah Territory, thereby completing the railway.
Speaking of great moments in history, even though the name of this franchise is a start of new dreams, this franchise will never forget like the railroad, its own rich history; its successes, its trials, its triumphs.
We shall not forget the 9 Tobacco Bowl Championships in 14 Bowl Appearances. Nor the Legends, Hall of Famers, and future Hall of Famers whose names graced the jerseys on the field.
Randy Boone, who led the Bees to glory land 8 times with his accurate arms and mighty solesmic prowess.
Brandon Blackburn, the first leader of the team and Hall of Famer, who led a defensive Bees team to their first Championship victory.
Many other fan favorites and future hall of Famers including Scott Syron, and Darryl Blakely who currently holds the points lead and running.
The Bees banners will never be taken down, but be a foundation and inspiration for this new squad of Golden Spikes.
Thank you for reading this announcement.
The team logo shall be presented on the morrow.
Good Day.
