Many changes occurred before training camp this year for the Defenders. One of the biggest headlines was long time QB Shedleski's departure. Especially after drafting 2 high round QBs in the last 2 years, the departure was imminent if a title had not been won. Therefore, the battle between Vanderjagt and last year's top drafted QB C.Atkins will be an interesting one. We will see who can continue the legacy that Shedleski held at PH. Rookie RB Grim and veteran FB and team leader Borick should spark a heavier run game to make room to the young QBs. Sophomore WR C.Reilly will try to improve from last year's solid performance and sturdier Oline might make a difference after last year's 40+ sacks allowed.
On D the team more or less stays the same, bulking up the front line a bit and the corner position with young studs Richiardi and Strahan, both with lots of potential. The renegotiated contract of LB Anzivino will make room for other big contracts within the team and help build a long term core.
As the NC West keeps on strengthening, Pearl Harbor needs to maintain the discipline that they lacked last year and a coaching staff that needs to be better this year in figuring out ways to win with the team in front of them.
