  • Bombers 2023 Draft

Fortunate enough to have a couple extra picks in the first three rounds in this draft. Was a lot of talent at the top, then seemed to drop off precipitously. Not a superstar draft for us, but 4-5 strong contributors, I think.

1.20 - CB Rickey Gaither 32/56 -> 37/59 (+5/+3) Very happy to see the pop, as I was pretty underwhelmed with the initial numbers. His EN still puts me off a bit, but he will start immediately opposite Edgar Stone.

2.21 - OT Tim Hill 27/64 -> 32/62 (+5/-2) Ok camp. I think he'll be solid. OL is getting old quick, so loading up for the future. May start.

2.25 - RB Reggie Fox 31/49 -> 33/46 (+2/-3) Disappointing camp, but looks to fit real nice in what will be a RB-by-committee year.

3.10 - FL Brian Tatum 18/40 -> 19/35 (+1/-5) Free pick, took a swing at a WR. Big miss, but still looks to contribute on returns/ST.

3.17 - QB Gene Sante 10/42 -> 15/42 (+5/0) Another stab in the dark. Nice camp, but for the agility score. His 0 sense rush bears that out, but he's more likely to make the roster than Campana or Chukwuma at this point.

3.20 - ILB Eric Esquivel 25/50 -> 28/46 (+3/-4) I was thinking/hoping he'd pop, but not to be. Still looks ok, can contribute as a backup.

4.21 - WR Tyrus Jarvis 24/46 -> 27/42 (+3/-4) Was pleased to see him in the 4th, but looks like he was only barely worth it. Meh.

5.15 - SLB Kyle Musgrove 12/31 -> 15/32 (+3/+1) Moved from DE ok, nice camp - but not much to see here. Doubt he stays.

6.21 - OG Marvin Benton 13/48 -> 16/46 (+3/-2) Eh. May stick, but nothing special.

7.20 - OG Riddick Stillwell 13/29 -> 18/36 (+5/+7) Best camp of the team, so will keep him around out of curiosity.

The only downside to Gaither was his END. He was one of the better DBs out there.

I don't think there was a complete T in the entire draft. I said as much when Mike too his LT in the 2nd. They all had their downsides, whether it was strength, run blocking or end, they were all imperfect. Now, DTs, there were plenty. ;)
