  • AC West 2021 Preview

3 of the 4 teams were quite busy this offseason so till be intresting to see if it will be another down to the wire season in the west and who caught up to defending champion Riders.

Los Alamos last yrs 6-10 2021 prediction 9-7

The monsters are only going to get better after taking a step back last year, they went 8-8 in the new gm's 1st season, but thats only because the west got better.

they made a commitment to the runnign game signing 5 offenvie linemen including 2 draft picks and 3 TE's looking to find the right mix to get mccumber going. Mccumber was in the top 10 in yds from scrimmage but he leaves you wanting more. and the monsters have done what they could to get him invloved 287 carries and 73 passes causght out of the backfield. however mccumber has not broken the top 10 in yards and found paydirt only 6 times and none of those were in the air.

thats where speed demon sammy dillion comes in. acquired in a trade hr replaces last years starter Hunter Mcgarrihan. after being exiled from yuma dilling has a bit of a chip on his shoulder and having a monter like Mccumber should make his life much easier.

the monsters also improved on D with rookies Kevin Newman and Jackie "code" Blue looking to contribute right away. combine those guys with Fred prior and jumbo samson los alamos has the makings of a monster front 7 and they will be a for to reckon with this year and for years to come.

    The Grizz

    Denver last yr 7-9 2021 prediction 9-7

Denver finished strong sat year going 5-2 in its last seven including wins over playoff bound Phoenix and Utah, also getting the offense on track. and they were extremely busy signing nearly 40 players to the roster in the off season. in fact rumor had it they would be doing an "open call" but cooler heads prevailed.

Denvers biggest problem will be getting these guy to work together, but thats REALLY thier ONLY problem with an emerging star in bart ross and a ferocious D cause whoever is at qb wont matter with Cornelius Jeffords any one taking snaps will be asked to just manage the game.

Denver is probably the most dangerous team to watch in the west. the d was fine and now they figured how to put points on the board.

      Busy Bees

Utah last season 10-6 2021 prediction 10-6 (win div)

The bees started off with a scorching 8-1 but limped across the finish line into the playoffs and were 1 and done. part of that was due to a last season injury to Randy Boone.

Thier offseason was quite busy as well during the draft they moved no less than 21 future draft picks and tehn as thier custom brought in several warm bodies into "the Hive" for traning camp.

Utah may finally be looking to have a runnign game picking up former Grizz RB Bobby Kudlacz and then promptly cuttign him, in fact they just cut and signed 6 players while i was typign this out.

Utah seems to have had one of the better drafts not just in the west but in the OSFL altogether! however Utah seems to be in a "win now" mode after trading away prospect Lance Orbik and in that vein rookie CB Quinn Robinette will be on the field day 1.

The Bees look primed for another 10 win season but with Denver and La's improvements that coudl change in a hurry

LMAO! Mark my words, we never intend to have a running game in Utah

        Boulware or bust...

I'm not that confident, because there is a ton of talent in this division. Skeen's injury is big. But other than that, this draft wasn't about 'win now' so much as it was 'save up for the future.' Orbik and Marsh were traded for a first rounder which was traded away for a future first rounder. Lots of moving parts right now as we try to assemble our first real 'core' of players, and hopefully by the time that is together, we can get into 'win now' mode and furnish Boone with the pieces he'll need.

I like these predictions...another tight race of teams hovering around the .500 mark for the AC West title!

          Ride again

Phoenix last yr 11-5 (div champ) 2021 10-6

the riders came from nowhere thanks to the rebirth of Tom Skeen, he rvived his career after being cast off by washington only 2 years after bringing them a F.O. Bowl victory. skeen took the hapless riders to the 2nd round of the playoffs where they fell short.

they open a brand new domed stadium this year the new field and surroundings could be just what they need to get over the hump. the riders window is small as will shumway is on the wrong side of 30 and J.b. Mahon is looking retirement in the face.

the riders D has been kept together and will return all 11 starters the unit held only 5 teeams unser 20 points but they like to do it more often, but with the leaps and bounds that the other division rivals have made could make that a tall order.

teh riders draft looked good with Phoenix trading up to #2 to get Rico Oglethorpe. Rico is a bit of a project as so far hes looked rough in his adjustment to the pros. the pick that will make the most impact is G Ernie Morris he will be solid for years to come opening holes and will start from day 1.

all in all the future looks bright this year and perhaps for years to come make no doubt the riders star is hitch to 5'9 inches of fiesty QB.

now that all beign said im so fucked. depends on how long skeen is actually "out" as opposed to just injured. but i dont feel too worried emmerson looked very good playing with the B team he was accurate and efficent and as i said when i drafted him i had him as the 2nd best qb in last years class. so im not REALLY worried cause i figure skeen will be available by week 4 or 5

as long as emmerson doesnt have to throw it 40 times i think ill be ok, his high timing and accuracy seem to be whats making him very productive.

At only 5'7", his receivers would like to see Rico too, but most of the time the O-Line and D-Lines are too tall.

This year is looking like LA's year. Denver with the outside shot. I may be 9-5 now, but I am pretty sure I'll drop at least the next game, and possibly both of them. I was having such a good year, too...

We've lost 4 in a row and you see this as being my year? Any more injuries to my O-line and I'll have to bring in my sister to block and my secondary is apparently afraid to cover anyone.

My friend...we here in Utah are legendary about throwing away our playoff chances!

I think if our records end up the same, you get the tiebreaker for the conference record or something like. And if you are intent on collapsing as well, Denver is in with winning out, or something like that.

I don't have any excuses though. We've been marvelously injury-free all year. I just don't know what to do with gameplans. I throw stuff out there and sometimes it is just crap. Can only imagine how more savvy gameplanners salivate when they think of what they can do with this QB/WR/WR/WR/TE roster and a 95 breakaway RB.
