hey Randy Boone...Britt Meyer says what's up.

And...Vinny, Vidi, Preston has a pass defensed??!? I was shocked when that happened. And no catches allowed!

Once again, gone from riding high to not being in control of our own destiny. We are the Utah Chokers. Perennially on the cusp of "playoff bound."

Boone has been horridly subpar in his past three starts, all losses. I still can't put our playoff hopes in the hands of Meyer, though. Boone pulled a lot of weight in getting us here. He deserves the chance to take us home.

It's too bad this team is saddled with my inept gameplanning. But if we get to the playoffs, watch out! Those things are notoriously random. Last and only time we ever won any games, we took some random QB in his first year with the team and rode into the conference championship. So if we do manage to not stay home for the postseason, I expect no less than a bowl appearance!

Some seasonal highlights, as we weep over the mangled body of ours...

        * As bad as the Bees are running into 4-deep pass aggressive (6 yard losses baby!), so are we good at running on 1-deep bump and run, run aggressive. Rookie Herman Woods went up on that and took it to the house. Not the first time we've had a good run against a run aggr front, either.

        * With teams paying so much attention to Foley after his breakout 2020 year, FA acquisition James Harden was nothing short of amazing. I am so glad I went and got this guy, he was such a key part of this offense. Two 55+ yard touchdown passes where he just took it to the house, in this last game.

        * With Ian Subramanian deciding to be an old man all of a sudden, it's a good thing I had Carlos Melnick in my back pocket. I believe in WLB Colin Bauer, but that was to be solid. Melnick has been spectacular.

        Sub: 10 starts, 16 played; 4 sacks, 10 hurries, 353 pass plays
        Melnick: 6 starts, 12 played: 9 sacks, 16 hurries, 241 pass plays

He is pretty much everything that Sub has been for the past two years, only better.

        * Boone recovered from a slow start and a bad string of games late, to come out of this with a 30 TD, 9 INT year. Feel pretty good having him and Meyer both going into ext year.

        * Foley: 778 yards. Harden: 761 yards. Barlow: 680 yards. Fletcher has come on strong of late, so add him into the mix and I'm very eager to field an offense next year.

He is pretty much everything that Sub has been for the past two years, only better. That rookie season he had with chuckie...it was no fluke!

          * Schacht: 162-752, 4.64 average. We had a 2-back system, but Schacht grew into the primary one as the season went on and he started to prove himself. He's becoming that guy we hoped he could be when we drafted him four seasons ago. Great surprise because up to this year, he's looked like nothing even close.

          * A good year for rookie strong safety Brent Driscoll, our second round man we believed in so much to trade up and get (still not as good as Yuma's guy, though. Aw.) In the later half of the year, he started to get a lot of chances to make plays over 2-year starter Blaine Johnston. Year ended on a sour note for him, though, he got absolutely schooled against Los Alamos.

Funny, we drafted him to be Foster's replacement because Foster wasn't looking like he was very good while Johnston looked studly...but Foster, at FS, had a lights out year this year. When Driscoll got more PT at the end, it was Johnston's that he cut into. And now we have three promising safeties.

Man, that's rough that you missed the playoffs. Very strong season.

Oh, and SUCK IT, BRITT MEYER.
