      Looking Back

      2016 Draft

Matt Jeffries S/CB & Horace Galasinski K are the only 2 still on the team. Still overpaid for jeffries at 1.12 ,

Got good production from Rondell Starks OLB at 4.15 not a bad draft but eh.

      2017

Got Alfred Morrison WR 1.15 and Monty Lester OLB 3.13

Monty was a great value at 3.13 only 8 career sacks but 8 Fumbles forced 14 ints and 4 tds scored. his 3 ints returned for tds have him tied for #3 all time, with guys like Monty Meier. on his last legs but man no complaints for a mid 3rd rounder

rest of the draft was all misses

      2018

      Kris burke WR 2.18

hes been a solid if unspectacular #2 WR 2024 was the 1st year he didnt have a TD catch bounced back nicely in 25 with 74 catches for 851 yds and 5 tds

      2019

      my best draft i think

Cris Lowe CB 1.7 Mo Lyon S 2.6 & Tony Christmas 3.5. an all pro, solid starter and excellent nickel back

rest of the draft was sad EXCEPT for Bucky Perkins who caught on in boston and is still in the league not bad for a 7.7 pick

      2020

Lamont Emmerson QB 2.13 & Donald Ogilvie 4.5 were the only success' in this draft Emmerson has been a solid backup and i wouldnt worry much if i had to throw him out there for a few weeks and Donald has been a good backup last season posting a 57.9 KRB% last season

Floyd Ford was an UDFA and he made the move to S nicely 4 career picks and hes made some big plays in the solevision

and Bernie Richardson WR/KR has been a nice treat mostly a slot 3rd 4th WR when hes been on the field hes been good, and as a KR hes been solid making all pro as a returner hes gtten better with age after not breaking one his first 4 seasons he returned 4 kickoffs for tds in the last 2 seasons

      2021

"one right to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them"

Frodo Began his quest for the 1 ring in earnest 1.2 overall hes settled in at 66/66 Compare to #1 ovreall CaryMoney frodos been a bit of a disappointment but that speaks more to ownership than anything. other than a penchant for ints hes been fine

Ernie Morris 2.26 RG road eater but been a little disappointing and i suppose i need to adjust my expectations hes averaged about 20 KRBS a year and only missed 2 games

      2022

Randle Martin 3.2 DE Rosie Bennett C 2.16 (trade)

other than those 2 draft was a waste Kim bergen 7.4 Has been average i was hoping his pass blocking would be better. Bennett has been injury prone missing all of 2024 and breaking his collar bone in week 16 last season.

      2023

1.24 Chris Di Pietro OLB, 2.23 Burt Shepherd TE were as good as advertised altho DiPietro couldnt bulk up to move to MLB sp weve been playing him everywhere and Shep has been fine at te despite his size (5'11)

5.13 Jerome Kreitzer has been a pleasant surprise on special teams hes been sure handed and is averaging 19.3 yds per kick return

other than those guys not much going on here, on a side note i really wish i would have kept 6.18 Dean McGregor hes languishing on dakotas bench unhappy as heck

      2024

Captain Kirk DT 1.9 & Erik Norton DE 2.8

so far half my line is solid now i need to firm up the other half. Kirk made the move inside to DT nicely and with the retirement of Allen Rose & Trevor Pruitt, Kirk has some big shoes to fill.

Nortons been solid recording 4.5 sacks and 13 hurries along with 46 tackles in '25.

Desmond Castillo P 3.7 has done his job sadly he was a busy man over 175 punts in 2 seasons

Johnny Dole didnt make the team and Rusty Benton 6.7 has been a 6th round pick

      2025

      only had 1 pick

2.15 R.j. Wiggins 4.11 ypc more importantly only 4 fumbles, Louis Manningham had 17 fumbles in only 2 seasons ('23 & '24), did well as the primary back

2026 here we come with 13 draft picks it will be busy

              2026 Draft

After last years draft where we had only 1 pick this year we were busy holding a Utahesque 13 picks we used some of that fire power to trade up and get

1.7 Donovan Wright 6'1 295 DT Oklahoma St.

Bit undersized but outstanding bars and 39 reps in the bench press 2nd most at the draft this year. 2 blues 2 reds could help but pick him up my run defense was sad last year and i really didnt generate much of a pass rush without blitzing so he answers both of thise needs

so a huge draft 14 players total more that half should make the team

                1.7 Donovan Wright 6'1 295 DT Oklahoma St 49/77
57/78 Endurance is 19/36 should be ok

bit undersized but strong as an ox only question is his endurance traded up tog get him and so far so good with his precamp numbers

                1.22 Lee Baxter 6'1 235 MLB Arizona St 41/75
46/71 Should be ok here for a late 1st hig 40's low 50's but the time the dust settles

moved him inside to fill a huge need at the position Chris DiPietro couldnt make the move in so we drafted baxter solid across the board bars not the fastest guy but his high PD bar should help make up for that

                2.21 Peter Briggs 5'10 197 RB Washington St 38/51
39/48 well he still looks ok hell be an excellent #2 except for the hands of stone in the passing game

good overall back not so much of a receiver out of the backfield but a good compliment to R.J. Wiggins not a workhorse guy but a perfect #2 in the running game

                3.20 Lamar Campo 5'11 190 CB Arizona 20/63
22/55 after the move to CB hope this works

another home town guy,a safety moved him to CB with no loss to his ratings. hell be great aginst the run and good hands should help with takeaways we were 2nd to last in ints last year. not a shut down corner but a good compliment to Cris Lowe

                3.24 Lee Stock 6'3 298 DT Colorado 23/61
26/54 Bout what i expected should settle in around 40ish

32 reps on the bench and a high PD bar should mean hell be in the rotation and be a solid backup

                4.22 Larry Andersen 6'0 214 S Michigan St 30/50
36/48 another good back up seemingly

Good coverage skills and speed 4.44 40 hell backup the aging Matt jefferies but may see some time at CB as well i may still move him to CB as his ratings go up to 36/65 at cb but i get an 86% loss???

                5.10 Max Joseph 6'0 194 CB Indiana 24/49
26/44 mostly here for ST so any nickle/dime work i get from him is a bonus

bit of a shot in the dark here more of a ST guy anyhting he gives in coverage is bonus

                5.13 Omar Orbik 6'2 252 OLB Hawaii 22/49
25/44 he may not survive camp, too bad i like my Hawaii guys

Pass rush guy good size will backup the WLB postion and may make the team as a ST guy

5.21 Ricardo Preston 6'226 OLB Clark Atlanta 28/41
30/41 coverage guy who may stick around

backup pass coverage guy hell be a situational guy

                6.20 Moe Helms 6'0 197 K Oklahoma 36/69
                35/64 hes a kicker

lost my Kickoff specialist so took a flyer on a combine skipper with paired bars well see what happens

                7.15 Archie Cebulla 6'5 328 RG Temple 8/58
11/50 a long term project if he stays
Bit of a project only 22 reps on the bench but my scout had him at VU

                7.22 B.J. Lake 5'11 223 FB Arizona 23/47
Cut, yeah whiffed on this one

hey another Arizona guy! more of a pass catcher than anything but will help out on ST

and the crown Jewel of the draft

                7.32 Ronald McDonald!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5'11 2019 TE Louisville
cut well what are ya gonna do?

moved him to te he may have a chance to make the team, the free chicken mcnuggets dont hurt

                  2027 Draft

Well only 1 pick but i think it was a good one

2.16 Dexter Kulaga C Florida state 6'2 264 38/74 43/70 after camp should settle in, around 50 ish ill live with that in the 2nd

a bit undersized but strong as a ox 37 reps, hell start right away and well move "Rosie" Bennett over to G to youthen up the oline, and will help the running game

Glad I didn't trade up to get him @ 1.4 or 1.5. That would've been an expensive waste of a move.

This is going to be the best draft pick Phoenix has ever made!

It's just that there have been impact players before at the top of the draft, but Phoenix went with a BPA guy at a different position. This was a slightly risky move but I think you made the absolute right call

And of course I'm hugely disappointed

true ive passed on some big names but the stars aligned with Morrison (alfred) aging and Morrison (stanley) being available at 3 and i knew it wouldnt make it past you, nobody was happier than me when you traded out of 1.2

part of me almost wished id kept frodo but ill get a qb next year

1.11 Hugh Emmerson 5-11 217 RB Millersville College

2nd fastest 40 time at rb may end up moving him to WR opposite Morrison ill see what his BPR bar looks like on the move

bit undersized pick that was lambasted by "the great one" we shall see how it turns out
