  • Riders draft 2020

Well after a tough 2019 season the 2020 draft was even tougher there looked to be no help at the most imprtant postion of the game QB. so we traded out of the first round and picked up a 2nd. this was not a draft for starters.

2.13 Lamont Emerson 6'2 223 Qb, Kansas 4/47 no rush to throw him to the wolves just yet

post T/C 9/44 steady as she goes hopefully

I had him as the #2 QB in the draft didnt think he was worth it at 1.8 but at 2.13 he could be a steal he'll hold the clipboard this year to get ready for next year. i tried to move up to take a G but things worked out ok i hope

3.6 Danny Gmerek 6'5 327 LT UAB 21/52 he will be in the mix at both T spots another project

    post T/C 28/49 oops?

Big man from a small school, i was actually looking guard but Danny was VU and looks like he can be a starter in a year or 2 when McKenzie retires. good pass blocker ok run blocking ive done pretty well in the 3rd and 4th round picks hope the trend continues.

    <a href="http://s41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/strickzilla/?action=view&amp;current=DannyGmerek2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/strickzilla/DannyGmerek2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

    which brings me to

4.5 Donald Ogilvie 6'3 316 G Michigan State 24/65 came in as hard to read, another guy who will be in the mix ill be happy with low 40's

post T/C 29/62 bit of a surprise be great if he gets anywhere near 60

looks like a solid backup could maybe move to C another guy who needs a year or so with these 2 picks i may have rejuvenated my aging offensive line especially the left side. with my T in hes 12th year and my C and G in their 11th years both

    <a href="http://s41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/strickzilla/?action=view&amp;current=DonaldOgilvie2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/strickzilla/DonaldOgilvie2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

5.8 Donovan Hopper DE 6'5 276 Fordham 21/37 hell sit and learn this year and hopefully hell contribute to the pass rush next year

post T/C 24/37 as expected not sure if hell make the cut

a bit of a shot in the dark but he could be a situational pass rusher especially with the acquisition of Rose Hopper can play in a lot of the nickle sets and really help force sacks. hell probably be a bust but meh ive done much worse with higher picks, it could pay off nicely tho

    <a href="http://s41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/strickzilla/?action=view&amp;current=DonovanHopper.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/strickzilla/DonovanHopper.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

6.7 Earnest Stuart MLB 5'8 231 N'western 23/43 im sure that wont hold he'll be an ok backup tho

    post T/C as advertised 26/37

very undersized but good bars hell be a backup and contribute on ST.

    <a href="http://s41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/strickzilla/?action=view&amp;current=EarnestStuart.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/strickzilla/EarnestStuart.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

7.6 Adam Skerritt WR 5'11 184 Lock Haven 24/38 turns out no affinity at all hell be getting cut soon

post T/C cut didnt have the affinity i was looking for

another small college guy mainly drafted for his affinity but he may have some hidden talents, great at the catch and run however hes a long shot to make the roster.

    <a href="http://s41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/strickzilla/?action=view&amp;current=AdamSkerritt.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/strickzilla/AdamSkerritt.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

    Rookie FA's

Cornell Logan 6'2 238 TE Maine 19/48 he had some interesting bars in interesting places and his combines SEEM to support them we will see what happens after training camp

post T/C seems i have a TE fetish LOL cut!

Rodney Madera 5'11 196 WR Maryland 14/25 actually is an affinity guy and will contribute on ST

    post T/C cut

Antonio Blackburn 6'4 318 LS NC State 13/56 hes a long snapper and if hes even halfway decent its a bonus

post T/C 17/50 could be a contributor other than snapping.

Darrin Briggs 6'3 295 LT NC State 9/57 Played G in college right next to Blackburn moved him out to T and hes a real long term project but with a blue 40 and broad jump score could be good

post T/C 12/48 probably wont be sticking around

Floyd Ford 6'2 215 CB Temple 17/56 big tall cb who could be the dime back or move to S very much a zone guy and had a great position drill

post T/C interesting 19/46 after the moves to S looking good tho

Jamie Allen 6' 212 CB UCF 20/33 probably wont make the team

post T/C he should be checking craigslist

Wow, I just realized that I didn't sign a single rookie FA this year. Well, one, but I'm releasing him.

so season over lets see how the rookies did

Lamont Emerson 6'2 223 Qb didnt play at all didnt get hurt yay?

3.6 LT Danny Gmerek played mroe than a few snaps i ogt the bars mixed up hes a run blocker not a pass blcoker DOH allowed 5 sacks in 195 pass plays not well coudl be moved inside? 34% KRb tho there is hope

4.5 LG Donald Ogilvie looks to be the better of teh linemen i drafted didnt play as much and didnt look as good 4 sacks in 114 pass plays hopefully with ethan fox gone and more PT hell shape up

5.8 LDE Donovan Hopper played a totoal of 39 snaps thats 39 more than i wanted him to play but due to injuries i had to activate him got 1 assist hes probably gone this camp

6.7 MLB Earnest Stuart nice suprise here ina backup roll in only 11 games 6 tackles 3 hurries 1 sak 1 int and 2 passes defensed . thats nice production from a 6th roudner

7.6 SE Adam Skerritt cut but he ended up being semi productive in boston where he caught 26 for 316 yds and 2tds

my UFA seem to be the creme of the crop

Antonio Blackburn 6'4 318 LS got soem run at C and even recovered a fumble on ST 4 krb's in 14 chances no sacks allowed in just under 200 plays wow

Darrin Briggs 6'3 295 LT played in spots will get a chance to be the starting LT next year

Floyd Ford 6'2 215 S another guy who played in spots (7 games) looks to be a serviceable backup

Bernie Richardson WR #2 on the IMT 26 catches 316 3 tds only 1 drop but he was a relieable target on 3rd down and he can return kicks, tho he didnt get much work due to the signing of Winfred ellison. but when he got the chance he went to town averaging 25.3 yds per return
