Ok, I take back what I said before. McCloud actually had an ok game against Port City. He allowed 4 catches to Lofton but that's pretty impressive for one of the best WRs in the game. Lofton finished with 9 catches out of 11 targets but only 55 yards. Not bad... The problem is that whenever I put out a zone I got burned because of my LBs. I need to put Corbett back into the line-up or just play more man.
The flip side to that is that I had Lofton doubled 100% of the time. Erickson really took advantage. He's only a 40/40 WR but somehow we let him torch us for 7 catches and 147 yards.
See Strick - sometimes it seems to make sense to throw out double coverage. But sometimes the game can be unforgiving (although to be fair, I would do it again in this case. This is one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't type of scenarios).
Actually, the real problem in my loss to Port City was once again the offense. Too many 3 and outs left the defense out there a lot.
