  • Ac west week 6

Welcome to the division nobody wants to win!

last week everybody lost except for the division leading Grizz who were on a bye. some losses were worse than others Phoenix lost to 0-4 waco in magnificent fashion as the hawks set a franchise record for total yards and Desmond Warren had the 2nd best passing day in Waco history, also the riders lost ANOTHER player to injury. Los Alamos was in a bit of a dog fight and played port city well and just came up a bit short. meanwhile Utah....well we can say they had a rough day and leave it at that Memphis threw the ball 53 times so much for balance

so as we look ahead to week 6 heres whats happening first place denver has a tall order as they host a early front runner in 3-1 port city. the last times these teams played in 2017 the grizz pulled off an upset of the playoff bound steam. and they try to do it again as they have had the bye week to rest up and gameplan. denvers D has been good considering its youth 14th in yards allowed. hopefully they will bend and not break as much. the bright spot for denver is that port city is 31st in points allowed so Bart Ross has a chance for a big day. Ross had an ok rooki season somewhat underwhelming for a #9 overall pick. however this year hes on pace for a solid season (80 catches 1200+ yds and 10tds)

los alamos host's waco who got their first win last week and they continue the tour of the AC west it looks like what los alamos needs as they are #1 against the pass and they should be feeling good about playing port city tough. Waco has won 3 of the last 4 going back to 2010.

and in our main event of the week utah visits phoenix, this has been a weird one in 2018 the road team won both games yet in 2017 the home teams were victorious. the all time series is 15-12 in favor of the riders. phoenix had been hammered by injuries, Alfred morrison was out last week and probably wont play this week, qb marcus ramsey has been shakey in the last 2 games without morrison to go to, in spite of that phoenix could easily be 4-1 but they have had some issues in the kicking game K horace galasinski's fg percentage has gone down every year from 81% as a rookie to a abysmal 70% last year he will need to step up or start looking for work. Utah is coming off a tough loss scoring only 3 points, they have been sporadic on offense. the winner of this game will be .500 and back on track to win the division crown with a 2-0 in division record.

these 2 teams also play on the last day of the year so winning this week could go a long way to not having to decide the season yet again on the final day

We knew Memphis was going to throw it all over the place too.

Obviously, our plan to counter that fell rather flat on its face.

It's back to the drawing board...man, that was ugly.

This week, next week (UTA vs DEN), and Week 17 (when we play round 2) are going to be very interesting. Has there ever been a 6-10 division winner?...

that would suck to be 6-10 and still drafting in the 20's

i just want to surrvive this week and get to the bye .500 and maybe get a chance to get semi healthy ramsey clearly misses Morrison and i may have to play him with the hip pointer and risk future injury.

tough descison here or maybe even pulling Ramsey for Foley. foley finished up strong last year, but ramsey has not had morrison for the last 2 losses then again thats what makes the great ones i suppose doesnt matter who they are throwing to they still get it done

I was told that the game still uses old rules - which means that making the playoffs does not change your draft order. But then on paper I had myself drafting ahead of Nutah this past season, which did not happen. I'm not really sure if that was a quirk or if I was misinformed.

His rookie season was pretty good considering he was drafted only 24% developed. I think there is no question he is a 1,000+ yard receiver. I have been pushing out a pretty balanced game plan, too... (110 rushes, 108 passes, now that's balanced) My usual offense is pretty pass oriented. But don't feel like I have the QB at the moment to just air things out.

His route running is my only concern - probably it will end up just about average. But when he gets the ball, he will perform. If I get get another stud WR on the other side and a decent QB, my offense will be deadly.

ok game plan is installed my only concerned because of no midweek is that ive signed a lineman but the ai has a penchant for juggling the lineup in ways i dont like

Make sure you only have 45 active players because the lineman will show up active - but maddeningly enough, cant be put on the depth chart. Doesnt mean he cant play though. Sorry by the way, my apostrophe key is kinda messed up.

Ah, that's unfortunate. GG as well, Strick.

Looks like I have a bye this week before taking on Denver. My goodness Randy Boone, two picks today. What to do with you...

I think the step that Nutah missed was making sure you had all the required active players for all the different position groups. Then filling out your depth chart appropriately.

Anyhow, Nutah is back "in command" of the division. One game up and he has won both of his division games. Is this where he makes his move? Or will he fall on his face against me after the bye week?

In any case, the next two games will go a long way to determine whether I will be a pretender or contender. But after my last game and with the slow development of my rookies, I think we are about to fade into the background.

You know it is still early in the season, but I really like how McCloud is playing. Even after his poor performance in this past game, he has the inside track to defensive player of the year. It is also interesting to note that he currently sits #7 on the defensive player of the year list - as a rookie!

I thought Wrighster would be the better player but he sits at #18 on the list. Although... Wrighster was drafted at around 25% developed and McCloud was more like 60% (on the other hand, Wrighster has developed a bit since training camp while McCloud has not). Anyhow, the stats:

                        1 LCB Kurt McCloud (DEN) 364.9 3 int, 5 passdef, 12 ctc, 124 psply, 91.3 pdpct, 18 tkl, 7 ast. 1(20)
                        18 RCB Bobby Wrighster (DEN) 161.7 1 int, 1 passdef, 5 ctc, 85 psply, 83.3 pdpct, 6 tkl, 2 ast. 1(15)

Another interesting note... The number 2 guy is:

                        2 LCB Jeffrey Rainwater (OHV) 311.4 2 int, 2 passdef, 8 ctc, 140 psply, 85.4 pdpct, 17 tkl, 6 ast. 4(9)

Jeffrey who??? Oh yeah and this guy:

                        6 LCB Brant Davis (OHV) 209.2 2 int, 3 passdef, 15 ctc, 136 psply, 80.3 pdpct, 21 tkl, 9 ast. Undrafted.

There must be something in the water in Ohio Valley.

I'm looking forward to next year's draft! I think we might be closer then I think as even the blowout was fairly close for awhile. I just need to figure out where I need the most improvement and do well with next season's draft/free agency/trading.

i meant it didnthelp as in i still got my but whupped. everythign went as planned as far as teh roster, just the actual playing of the game is what went horribly wrong

guess theres nowhere to go but up. bye week this week ramsey has just looked clueless without morrison. he cant hit ANYONE TE RB WR nothing just sad sad sad. and poor will shumway 3 100 yard games in a row and nothing. missed FG's and my d is really not half bad only allowed more than 20 points 2 times. defiately will be looking QB in the draft any more injuries tho and the season WILL be over.

as bad as i am im only 1.5 games out and as weve seen anything can happen on the last day of the year, it would not suprise me if 3 of us were still in the hunt in week 15, which 3 could be a suprise. utah for sure denver is 2nd most likely due the owners experence and if i keep getting injuries los alamos could be 7-9 or may be 8-8 and as Nutah pointed out 7-9 could win the divison. and i think los alamos has the fire power to make a lot of games close
