true but my last draft pick for returner was Harris maple and ummmm not so much so if Xmas pans out as a returner it will free up 3 roster spots and more cap room, and i will be delighted.

my feeling is if im drafting somone that was on Spocks radar i must be doing something right

Just to also say that my confidence may be nothing more than that. But I'm hopeful. ;-)

Anyhow, you have also had a solid draft and really deserve to be the favorite to win the division (if you ask me). So far:

      1 - 29 Norbert Slaten ILB
-had him as VU. Projects as a really solid LB and a steal this late in the 1st.

      2 - 5 Robbie Kerr DE
-you had him as U and I think your scout is right. Probably nothing flashy but would be a starter on 95% of the teams in the league.

      2 - 24 Stephen Wells C
-this guy is going to be one of the best Cs in the league. He was next up on my list at 2-26 and that says a lot since I think Downs is a really solid LB.

      2 - 30 Glen Plummer RB
-I'm not sure about him but I just had a bad feeling from his bars. But whatever happens, you get a solid kick returner.

      4 - 10 Chuck Horton CB
-No interview on him but he has those masked pairs. I'm sure you found a diamond in the rough. He should be a really good nickle or dime guy but just don't put him out there to defend the run.

St. Paul drafts their 5th straight defensive player with CB Bob Tenbroeke from New Mexico.

Considering we traded our 2nd and 3rd to Denver for a stud CB and spent $50 mil on a safety in FA I guess our plan to try to win with defense and a running game is in full bore.

Lots of love going on within the AC West <3

I think Matt did real well too. I like that pair of LBs a lot in the first. I think this has definitely been more of a defensive draft, compared to last. Glad you thought so strongly of my center. That's a position that's been neglected far too long in Utah.

I'm not sure you are missing two safeties on D by the way, chuck. Either way, you've turned around Denver in a big way in a short time and you guys are well positioned for the future.

Just to be clear, I don't know that he'll be productive, or even good, but scouting him shows a 93 leadership and 90 personality. If you're into the chemistry thing, you will build around him.

He'll be the most talked-about 37/37 type player ever. lol (and no, I have no real idea of where he'll end up).

So I have no idea how it happened, but my preference list had CB JC Limbert at the top when I went away last night and this morning I find that my crack team in the war room decided to ignore my explicit instructions to grab someone we could use in our defensive backfield as a potential safety and picked an Offensive Tackle who I don't think was even in my preference list at all.

Anyone know how something like that could happen? I am as sure as I can be that I had J.C. at the top. I need a safety and there just aren't that many DBs left in the draft. Offensive line was WAY down my needs list. I had defensive line and linebackers ahead of any offensive linemen in my list.

Not asking for a rollback...just want to know how something like that happens so I can avoid it in the future.

Just a guess but it sounds like you were auto picked. Do you know for sure that you actually set it to fire from your list? This happened over in the most recent CyFL draft, too. Someone insisted that they had it set to fire from their list but it was clear that they never did.

The utility can be finicky. Whenever I set to fire from my list, I always check back to make sure I have that magic * next to my team name.

Oh yeah, and also check your options tab. Is pick method set to "player queue"?

Yeah, sounds like a scout pick, which basically ignores your priority list, I do believe.

I had the magic star. I checked it about 9 pm or so last night I think. Maybe a little earlier. Method was (and is) set to player queue and auto pick after 15 minutes.

The only thing I did differently than I ever do was use the import pick list using a list I generated from Stelmack. It must have been that. Schneider WAS on that list and higher than a lot of people.

But I manually moved things around to stack offensive linemen way down on my list and secondary up higher. After I picked a QB I moved all the QBs to the bottom of the list. Those are still at the bottom today. Must be some kind of glitch. I'd love to take credit for it, but I know/know/know that I put him up top. I spent about 30 minutes analyzing the crop of potential safeties. Anyhow, moving on and in the virtual world firing several coaches who made the stupid pick.

Don't know what to say. I imported the list from draft analyzer and it worked fine. There are no reports of bugginess on FOFC. If it is a bug, I am guessing you hit on something that happens once in a blue moon.

LOL what happened to your 10 year player thing?

all kidding aside it was more of a me trying to talk myself into it being a good pick, i hadent scouted him, dont really need a 7th cb and i casualy noted hes an affinty guy i just was looking for pr/kr skills and he had a blue 40 time so he *should* be decent M2M so he should be ok in the nickle with the strong man/weak zone thing.

all i want for Christmas is a retun TD

oh yeah i LOVE the name too

Did anyone get an interview on Wrigster? I know some people out there wanted to take him... But I got some info that might mean he is actually overrated and wanted to see the 411.

Chuck, if you mean Bobby Wrighster, I had him as underrated and was crushed when you took him in the 1st. His intelligence was 6. So that PD bar should live up to its billing.

With an agility like that, I find it hard to believe he is not underrated.

I don't know, maybe he's much worse of a returner than advertised?

Phew... That's also what my scout said. I had the same analysis as you - that his agility bar was too low vs his combine. And also the sol score vs his int. But another team had him at a lower rating than me which is sometimes a bad sign. Although in this case, it seems to be scout error coming into play (either mine or his).

Thanks for looking into it and making me feel better.

There were some great defensive players in this draft, though. Even some guys I was not as high on... It makes me wish this my scout was a bit better.
