  • North Liberty Draft...

    1.14. Cornerback Michael Horton
    Interviewed: As Scouted

Combines Combines Combines. His strong personality is something we need in the defensive backfield, but his leadership is pretty low. If you look at his combine skills, I think he's the best corner prospect in the draft. Scout's solid at defensive backs, so I'll take an "as scouted". Low risk pick that fills a glaring need.

Now, after a careful inspection of our roster, and you'll see some pretty sad sacks pretending to be corners. If we don't start piecing a defensive backfield together, we'll never compete with the elite in the OSFL.

He may be a little short, but he's only an inch or two away from normal, and I've always said, it ain't the size, it's how you use it.

And a special thanks to Cheesehead Craig of the DFL and CFL for the added feature, the COEDS and CHEERLEADERS!

I hope for my sake you're wrong.

After going back and forth on the two, that's what she said, I went with Hardy Robertson. Fastest defensive player in the draft. Three red scores. Two blues. Plus he is one inch bigger (that's what she said.)

I think both will be great corners, regardless.

I think Portland's CB is better (dammit). But Hoosier's post is one of the best ever.

            2.14. Safety Alex Johnstone

Average speed, but solid combine scores in other areas caught my attention. Bars indicate a solid cover guy and good run defender. Pretty much a prototypical safety with just the right size and weight.

He played collegiately at Drake University, and since North Liberty is in Iowa, he's my one state university pick I always try to make.

              3.14. Fullback Butch Iwuoma
              Interviewed: Very Underrated

He'll need to lose weight, but we needed a lead blocker for our run game. And as an added bonus, he can catch the pass out of the backfield too. Combine scores are solid. Good bench scores, agility, and position drill highlight his combine. Again, another guy on the slow side, but he's perfect for the power game.

4.13. DE Louis Cooksey, Ohio University Bobcats

While not outstanding, his combine scores were pretty good. Nothing negative, and only one outstanding combine score in intel. Everything else is right where it should be. A little light, could add some weight in training camp. He'll start.

I would see how he moves to TE. I had him on my list and I planned to check it.

                    5.11. Punter Winston Collett

The little punter that could needs to grow up fast. He'll be the starter by default since the Enforcers don't have one on roster. An added plus is that he will be a cheap special teamer, and should be pan out, renegotiations will be cheap in the future.

Probably better, sexier picks left out there, but dangit, I needed a punter.
