    My QBs:

    Ellis Wynn 54/54->47/47 (-7/-7)
    Bryce Foy 51/51->49/49 (-2/-2)
    Rico Dietz (R) 13/64->17/54 (+4/-10!)

    :O! teardrop! T_____T How bad's it look for that rookie? Please don't tell me if it's awful.

    My (lone, I think) bright story from training camp: 3rd-year wide receiver Al Poston, a former undrafted free agent and very low volatility guy, went from 23/28->31/37. Looks like he's finally going to break into the rotation.

      1.12 RB Burt Newman 68/74 (+3/-2)
      Pretty close to my best case scenario. I knew that his potential was going to come down, I was just hoping it wouldn't be by much more than a few points.
      3.25 LT John Buhner 26/41 (+4/-1)
      Disappointing, but not the end of the world. He'll still likely make the team.
      5.23 LB Lee Gillespie 23/42 (+5/-3)
      Shoot, maybe I should have moved him inside after all.
      6.26 RB Floyd Steele 25/31 (+1/+0)
      Nothing impressive, but still in the mix for the 3rd RB spot.
      7.25 CB Hardy Philcox 24/38 (+3/-1)
      He'll make the team for his Kick return abilities, modest as they are.

      Other camp notables

      QB Casey Baumgartner 44/53 (+9/+3)
      Not too shabby for a guy that showed to his first camp 4/34
      WR Corey Page 36/36 (-6/-6)
      Corey surprised me by actually gaining points last TC, but it looks like the only remaining original Cutter is on his last legs.
      OC Casey Boticario 48/54 (+8/+4)
      Another slow but steady creeper, will compete with last years 2nd team All Pro center Jerome Huntley for the starting job.
      OT Larry Okuyama 42/45 (+15/+8)
      Wow, and I was impressed with his +5/+5 TC last year.
      CB Mickey Terry 43/43 (-9/-9)
      Was really hoping he'd last one more year before falling off a cliff.
      SS Louie Green 59/59 (-7/-7)
      More bad news for my aging secondary.

          2.17 QB Rico Dietz 13/64->17/54
          5.13 RB Brent Kinney 20/34->22/33
          1.23 WR Alvin Foley 33/56->37/56
          7.21 OG Max Mills 17/42->20/43
          3.19 OLB Johnnie Higgs 27/59->33/56
          4.14 CB Richie Ingram 26/46->29/44
          6.22 FS Chester Foster 14/34->18/35

          My 6th round and 7th round picks were the only risers. Cole Vinson, my 4th round OLB who went +4 in potential from 37 to 41 last year, came out of this TC at 37/37, so I'm glad Higgs held as well as he did. Looking like a lousy future at QB, but all of a sudden Utah is very well stocked at receiver. In addition to 60/60 studs Marchion and Quinteros, we have our first round pick Foley, two young veteran FAs who both went +1/+1 in TC this year, and skyrocketing Al Poston with his +8/+9 jump. Should not have cut Junior Hines, who went +5/+5, but I can live with it.

          The usual candidates fell off the map, nothing too unexpected. 2nd year CB Bo Stanton is going to be relied on a lot this year, and man, do I need some corners.

          I'm also thinking it would have been nice to score Sammy Dillon right about now. Tough for tomr though...I saw that McAleese went -8 in potential in camp. Was surprised.

            Here's the tracker file.

            At a quick glance, nothing terribly devastating for the Bombers, although there's definitely some misses on the rookies. Webb, however, went +4/+4.

              An outstanding offseason in Yuma.

              We upgrade the QB spot: 69/69 Sammy Dillon takes over for 43/43 Burt Virola. This move gives us a strong, extremely mobile QB in his prime to throw to our receiving corps and should help put plenty more points on the board.

              Two of our FA pickups, 59/59 5th year C Albert Bailey and 56/56 4th year MLB Nathan Spriggs, went up 6/6 and 10/7 in camp respectively. Additionally, both still have potential left to tap.

              Our draft produced a great crop of players who should make us a stronger team with 5-6 guys who figure to play prominent roles. Heres how they look post camp:

              1-21 - G Keith Mathers (37/55 --> 44/64) - Mathers made a giant leap for us and has us extremely excited about his prospects in the middle of our O Line. We're hoping he is the type that dominates and flirts with 50% run block percentage at least once or twice.

              2-14 - RT Mel Fulcher (17/47 --> 22/51) - Fulcher was a bit better than we thught he would be in camp, and our O Line has picked up 3 new starters this offseason between these two rookies and the aforementioned C.

              2-16 - QB William Chandler (7/56 --> 11/48) - A huge disappointment. We could have kept him with a drop of 5 or less, but dropping 8 points made us wish we had gone a different direction with this pick. A total waste of a nice 2nd rounder. He is cut already.

              2-26 - SLB Larry Barrett (Moved to MLB in the wake of the deal for QB Dillon) - (20/52 --> 23/52) - Barrett looks as advertised, which we are satisfied with. He makes a nice transition to the middle, and will be one of 4 MLB getting play in a rotation this year.

              3-15 - DE Norm Sheldon - (22/60 --> 27/65) - Sheldon was a sweet pickup in the middle of the 3rd, and he will eventually supplant current DE Donovan Kovel once he retires or his skills decline. For now, Sheldon is gonna be the primary backup and should see a significant amount of snaps. If he shows significant progress, we could see a changing of the guard sooner rather than later.

              4-18 - TE Mel Whiting - (29/76 --> 36/73) - Whiting stuck pretty close to that initial 76 potential, and we are glad to see the amount of development he showed in camp. He will step in and become comfortable as TE2 right away, and gives Dillon another toy to play with, as well as depth in the case Mike Smithson sees any significant time injured.

              4-24 - MLB Justin Cafferty - (14/38 --> 17/40) - Cafferty wasn't a revelation, but looks to be solid and should back up for the next 5-10 years if not start in pinches. He will be the 4th man in our MLB rotation, most likely.

              6-12 - RB Ian Webster - (34/40 --> 35/39) - Webster is our 1a at RB, and has a lot of gamebreaking ability. We're excited to see what kind of boost he will provide to our committee. Though he is pretty one dimensional, he has all the right tools to be productive toting the rock 12-15 times a game.

              7-16 - WLB Amos Flynn - (21/46 --> 23/41) - Flynn disappoints in camp, but we might keep him around and see if he can gain some weight and move to a backup DE role in a couple seasons. The more likely scenario is he doesn't make it though more than one camp with us.

              --

              Add the draft and key offseason pickups to continued improvement by our already gifted WR corps and a significantly upgraded K position and special teams, and there is no reason we should be watching the playoffs from home again this season. We have improved team potential by 44 points overall after our initial cuts. My only concern is cohesion with so many new faces. We're ready to make some noise in the desert.

                        A look back three years later...

                        Yuma
                        1.21 OG Keith Mathers 37/55->44/64->83/83
                        2.14 RT Mel Fulcher 17/47->22/51->65/65
                        2.26 SILB Larry Barrett 20/52->23/52->63/63
                        3.15 DE Norm Sheldon 22/60->27/65->65/65
                        4.18 TE Mel Whiting 29/76->36/73->65/65

                        I traded the 1.21 to Yuma to move down and pick up WR Alvin Foley (61/61).

                        I just can't get over how badly Yuma knocked it out of the park here, especially this:

                        Two of our FA pickups, 59/59 5th year C Albert Bailey and 56/56 4th year MLB Nathan Spriggs, went up 6/6 and 10/7 in camp respectively.
                        Good work man. It's little wonder you are 12-3 now.

                          As for me...

                          Dietz is currently 29/41 for Dakota.

                          Foley is 61/61 and climbing.

                          Mills has been on IR for over a full season, but is 32/41. Who knows if he recovers from his "V Severe" injury or not.

                          Higgs was traded to Kalispel and is 55/55. Weird as I believe he hit 60/60 at one point in his climb last year for me, so maybe it's just a fake drop.

                          Ingram is at 42/42 but may dip even lower.

                          And Foster is holding steady at 39/39.

                          Not a lot to boast about in this draft. I'm most pleased with Higgs (who is a great starter and cover LB after looking like he would barely hold up in the high 40s initially) as my 3rd round pick, and Foster, a STs ace who has the skills to play backup safety to boot - as a 6th round shot that panned out.

                            1.26 - WR Tito Webb - 34/49 -> 59/59. One of my best picks ever across all FOF leagues. Webb is a legit deep threat, and despite a bit of a rocky rookie season, led us to our first championship. Devastating kick returner too. I could be downright dangerous if A, I knew how to use him, and B, I had a QB. :)

                            2.25 - LB Alfred Enochs - 30/72 -> 53/53. Awful camp (-8), but really developed nicely. Been trying to convert him to a WLB in a 3-4, very likely next year. Solid starter.

                            3.24 - QB J.T. Eisenbart - 16/56 -> 46/46. Had a lot of promise, but seems to be a turnover machine. Don't know that he'll ever see the starting position again, apart from emergencies. But not awful overall.

                            5.26 - P Luke Kramer - 46/66 -> 60/60. Still starting with the team.

                            6.25 - S Jared Betancourt - 24/56 -> 31/31. Schlub, but still on the team.

                            7.24 - WR Gino Vaughn - 27/41 -> 33/33. Meh. Didn't make the cut this season.

                            Pretty strong draft, very key to our success that year and since.

                              1.12 - RB Burt Newman 65/76 -> 75/75

                              Newman is just about to finish up up what has been the most dissapointing year of his brief career, with only 1796 yards rushing and 12 TD. One thing I noticed today; in just less than 3 seasons with the Cutters, Newman has 35 100+ yard rushing games. In 11 years with the team Cedric Pint (the league's all time leading rusher) managed only 31.

                              3.25 LT John Buhner 22/42 -> 39/39

                              Bruhner never played a game in Camden, and never started a game at the second stop, Punxtawney, but he did start 11 games at LT this year for Denver. There he managed a less than impressive 28.2 BPct and a 5th worst in the league 2.5 SPct (among qualifiers).

                              5.23 LB Lee Gillespie 18/45 -> 34/37

                              Stuck around Camden for a couple of years, now he's a backup in Charlotte who rarely sees the field.

                              6.26 RB Floyd Steele 24/31 -> ??/??

                              Out of the league.

                              7.25 CB Hardy Philcox 21/39 -> 35/35

                              Philcox lost his kick return duties (career average 30.6 yards per) to Paul Marchion last year but did work his way into the dime and eventually nickle back roles before breaking his foot. Hard to be too dissapointed in a 7th round pick, but compared to our 7th rounders from the two previous years (starting RCB Leonard Johnson and starting LG Lamont Tanner) he's a bit of a let down.

                              This was very much a one man draft for us. But seeing as that man is the reigning MVP and our team is 14-1, I'm ok with that.
