Let's get it up and going. The sooner the better IMO. I think all interviews should be done pre-draft. In the NFL they aren't interviewing guys that are left in between rounds.

Plus I need to input my draft so I can go out of town.

Please note the new changes to the schedule.

I have pushed FA STAGE 6 to 12/17 to match our Tue/Thu/Sun schedule.

After finishing Stage 6 I will then open up the draft in an untimed form until Saturday, December 19 at 11 a.m. at that point, the draft will officially be timed and we will move along at normal pace.

I have also pushed back Stage 7 to Tuesday, Dec. 22 so that there will be no interviewing going on during the draft.

              Thanks,

              Linty

So can we do interviews after the utility is posted or will it be too late?

I won't post the utility till Thursday night.

You have the sim that will be run on Thursday to get your last interviews in.

So, yes, you have one more sim to do interviews.

Hm, one question I have - maybe to look at in future years - is why we run the draft with so much FA left to go? Our rosters remain to be sorted out, and there is another FA period following the draft.

I don't have an answer for that... maybe Aaron can answer it.

I was just following last years schedule.

Because it would extend the offseason by a week. We cant add draftees until the first stage of FA is complete and it usually takes us a 5-7 days to run the draft. Waiting until after the final stage would force us to wait at least 5 days to move on to the next stage. There is no reason we cant run sims during the draft especially since most major FAs are signed by FA Stage 6-7.

The second FA period is primarily for undrafted rookies and players cut by teams after the draft.

Which is exactly like the NFL. I like the current order/timing of the off-season.
