North Liberty Enforcers 2014 Year-End Report

After taking over the Enforcers with 3 games remaining in the 2014 campaign, new owner/GM Joe Diamond has issued the following year-end report concerning his newly acquired team. Needless to say with a 3-13 club, it looks as if there will be considerable turnover...

    Offense:

Passing: We have a very good QB with Allen, however we lack the playmakers at wide receiver to do much down the field. Without a downfield threat or go-to guy on 3rd down, we simply do not have what it takes to compete with many teams that can put points on the board. If it were not for TE Johnny May, we may not have won any games this year. This problem WILL be addressed in the offseason.

Rushing: We have a pretty good back in Bronson, but we need to add depth and become more aggressive in running the ball. The O-line will be one of our top priorities this offseason, specifically adding run blockers.

    Defense:

D-Line: Most of defensive line is pretty young, anchored by 2nd year guy DE Junior Bell. I don’t anticipate many changes to the D-line this offseason.

Linebackers: Our linebacker corps has a mix of older and younger guys. The best of them is Joel Wild, a 6th year guy that ended his season in week 16 with a hamstring injury. His return to field is unknown and we will plow forward as if he won’t be there. This unit will likely look different come next season.

Secondary: This unit will likely see the biggest overhaul of all. The cornerback situation is bleak, to be kind. Rick Weaver may be the only one to survive the offseason, still on this roster. The safety group is better, but not by a lot. Burhart is pretty good, but long in the tooth. Hopefully he’ll stick around to mentor the younger guys. It may be too much to ask for Skladanowski to pan out, but one can be hopeful, right?

    Special Teams:

Kickoff/Punt Returns: Yet another area that will have to be addressed in the offseason. We averaged an abysmal 20.0 yards per kick return and even worse 3.7 yards per punt return.

Kicking/Punting: Probably the one spot that may not see changes. Both Peterson and Holmes are decent enough to make the roster next year, given the extensive work that will need to be done elsewhere.
    USFL:Richmond Generals
    OSFL: North Liberty Enforcers
    WOOF: Kaiserslautern Wolves
    BLPF: Cleveland Browns
