Portland Draft Review
1.7 - Jake Kennedy - CB = I didn't actually make this pick, but I can't argue with the result. I thought my two biggests needs going into the draft was CB and DE. Just a couple days ago I made a trade for DE Michael Hagglund, so corner became #1. If I was available for the pick, I might have convinced myself to go with DE Darren Case. But my scout thought he was very overrated and I think he had a conflict. Hard to argue with that combine though.
Kennedy will immediately step into the starting role and might be the the highest rated corner on the roster by the end of the pre-season. He will join two second-year players in Quentin Donaldson and Ray "Red" Rose. Both saw significant playing time. This group also includes former first round pick Leo Duffy.
2.9 - Hugh Warren - TE = Ever since the draft class was published I knew I was going to take Warren at 2.9 if he lasted. I think he will be a great all-around player, who will give last years 1st round pick QB Eddie Castillo another weapon. My scout had Warren as very underrated. With a high development percentage, Warren will be the starter from week one.
What did everyone else think of these two as players and as picks?
