2012 DRAFT DISCUSSION THREAD

With my first 7th rounder I went with OLB J.C. Banks. He can't rush the passer very well, but in the 4-3 he won't have to. With his size and agility, I actually think he might fit better at Inside Linebacker. Plus, 7th round pick, you gotta go with a guy who has 98 volatility.

Two other 7th rounders:

RB Terrell Browning - I liked his bars. He has decent speed and an average combine. Worth a shot.

OLB Zach Loper - Could be serviceable in the 4-3. A little undersized, but he fits my scheme.

Another draft in the books for us. Ended up drafting 3 tackles! If one sticks, I'm happy.

I think Berlin is a can't miss. After that....roll the dice.

I'm pretty happy with my draft. I really like Ben Schneider at TE, he'll start immediately and hopefully give us a second receiver option to pair with Dustin Burrell, as well as a very good blocker to help there. After him, we got players that fill needs. Hopefully Carlson will develop into our QB in the future, though he's not ready yet. We just can't get a good QB in Denver. Bishop had a couple decent seasons, but he was never a long term option. I would have liked to get an OLB sooner, but I picked Schneider in the 1st and didn't see anyone at my pick until Ike Sullivan in the 5th. Hopefully he pans out with his 99 volatility.

Don't have a clue how things will turn out. With no picks befor the 3rd round I am unsure how these picks will pan out. I think I did add some depth. The QB pick was a wasted one , but that was my fault i did not save my priority list for that round

1st) WR STARGELL --- I was shooting for the weakest, wimpiest, and skinniest WR --- and I GOT HIM --- potential rating 50

2nd) G Herndon ---- man I have to stop drafting for NEED only .... another reach as many had him lasting until the end of round 3 ---- potential 50

3rd) DT Hitchcock --- decent DT but mostly likely never more than a backup --- 45 ish

(BTW --- I probably have a 50 rated DT available after TC)

4th) a PUNTER -- A PUNTER? --- 2nd best punter and really the BPA but I already have an 80 rated punter .... --- I need to modify that "BPA drafting strategy" to EXCLUDE P, K, long-snappers, and Kick holders

8-8 season ahead of us....
