Damn a missed 45 yard FG at the end to tie falls short. I got this to make FGs.
Reese was okay. He was very good in the 2nd half. Quarterback controversy, as Reese throws 2 interceptions. Great.
GG Lake County. I see why you are the Champ.
We go to Punx now. Will the team rally behind Reese or will there be a revolt and Reese sinks. And Kaplan cones back and saves the day.
I have what looks to be a very good line gets dominated today. We had
one (1) hurry all day and that was from a WLB. Cant win that wya. This loss was on the defense.
GG, Ben. I set out to shut down Wilkens in hopes that my secondary could contain Cosby. I was wrong about 12/16 times on 3rd down. That was very disheartening to watch a defensive scheme executed the way I wanted but still getting beaten time after time.
GG tarcone. We had a nice 2 score lead, but Slade almost stole that game away. He is awesome, got the team in position for the tie. It was a sloppy game with lots of penalties from both sides and many balls hitting the turf or being picked. Glad that we could give you that first loss though... :)

Portland gave us all we could handle. We did however set a team record with 521 yards on offense. Herb (No respect) Nikolaus threw for a career high 378 yards.
Nikolaus hit Toby Richard from 17 yards out to give the Stags a 24-21 lead with 1:02 to go in regulation. Portland drove straight down the field to tie the game on a 44 yard FG from Cole Cooper with 0:09 left.
Stag Rookie kicker Luther Spencer kicked a 33 yarder in OT for the win
I knew we were going to lose this game. With a 55 yd FG to add insult to inury. Every big play and good opportunity was wasted with a penalty...15 of them to be exact for 120 yards.
Not to mention we lose Desmond Gougeon to heat exhaustion in a game played in the rain.

The Good
-The Offense! My season high for points was 10. So scoring 24 was a pretty big deal. QB Henry Andrews had his best game of the season throwing for 148 yards, one touchdown on 16/23 passing. My RB duo of Craig Price and Kelvin Jarvis rushed for 99 and 30 yards respectively.
-Special Teams! My kicker was 2/2 including the 44-yarder to tie the game at the end of regulation. My punter had a decent day, and had a better net average than my opposition. And my punt returners averaged 11 per and my kick returners averaged 32.
The Bad
-The Defense! 521 yards?! Are you kidding me?
-Two fumbles, one which cost me the game.
The Ugly
-Fumbling while running out the clock for the first win of the season....great.
Next Week
-Host (4-2) New Orleans. Le sigh.

Motor City continues to alternate wins and losses by taking out a good Denver team in Motown. Though we only had the ball 8 times for 24 minutes, the Mechanics used their possessions wisely and held onto the ball for a change! After jumping out to a 14-0 lead, the Grizzlies pull back to even.
Deep in the 2nd half, after the Griz pulled to 21-17, "The Jiz" lead the home team on a stunning 11 play - 80 yard drive for a TD that took an impressive 7:42 off the clock. Denver did not go quietly though. After marching down the field with 3 minutes to go for a TD - a missed 2-point conversion left them at 28-23. They recovered the ensuing onsides kick, but were unable to put the ball in the endzone.
HIGHLIGHTS:
-- The Mechanics did not turn the ball over for the first time all season
-- "The Jiz" finished the day 25-30 for 277 and 1 TD (3 of the incompletions were the result of drops)
-- Rookie 1st Round Pick Daryl Calabri got his first career INT
-- The Mechanics only had 5 3rd Downs the entire game
-- 2nd Year Back Lester Winslett carried the ball only 8 times for 27 yards - BUT scored 3 TDs
The Mechanics get a week off to rest an exhausted Defense that played 81 snaps against Denver. At 3-3 in the AC East, that's good enough for a tie at the top. They return to the gridiron in Week 8 when that play host to Los Alamos.
