Well, that's a heartbreaking loss. Good game, Phoenix.
But I think I have my team back on track. And our opponents up to this point are a combined 13-3. Hopefully things will get easier for us from here on out.
If my team could hold onto the ball. Man. 5 turnovers tonight. That almost negated the 570 yards of offense I had.
The stars were shining bright tonight:
QB Lorenzo Kaplan 22-37 392 yards 5 TDs 3 interceptions
RB Fernando Perkins 28-164 yards
WR Sammy Slade 6-106 yards 1 TD
WR Steve Zukowsky 6-114 yards 1 TD
TE Nick Devitt 3-105 yards 1 TD. The TD was the game winner with 1:15 left in the game.
We are minus 10 in turnover margin. It almost cost me tonight. I guess the boys have to sleep, eat and live with a football in their hands.
We are now 1-3 with no end in sight in our decline. Siegrist has shown that he was necessary to our passing success. We've lost to St. Paul for the time in 3 years. Its a going to be a sad time in Iowa if we don't find a way to turn this around soon.
I don't mind going long in the passing game but 16 attempts is pushing my limits a little bit. No running game didn't help though so it wasn't the only problem. 2-0 start fades to memory.

I can't believe we threw 26 short passes and had 18 more pass plays than run plays. Nori had a rough 2nd half with the lack of balance in the play calling, but managed to drive the team down field during the final 2 minutes for the victory.
Defensively, we continue to play very well. The D-Line got constant pressure today and Desmond Gougeon continues his strong year with a forced fumble.
Huge game this week as we travel to Kalispel...

Another disappointing loss in Motor City. Lake County has never traveled to MTC and won in OSFL history... A fumble, dropped passes, and inefficiency on 3rd down killed us. All while "Jizz" is masterful on 3rd down: completing all but one pass on 3rd down with 8 conversions through the air.
I am not sure how we can play some of the best pass defense, then turn around the next game and play some of the worst I have seen since taking over LAC. We are inconsistent as hell... 4 games, 2 we played great, 2 we looked horrible. I wonder what team will travel to Denver next week.
GG game Clay, same thing I told Z: hopefully when you guys travel to LAC later in the season it will be a different story.

I made my first significant change to my offensive gameplan in 20 games. I felt it was the least I could do to welcome the champs in. Still has some kinks in it, but I can't complain. I can't expect to be that freakishly good on 3rd Down every week, but we'll take it when we can.
332 passing yards for "The Jiz" - a Motor City single game record - paced the way. Fullback Artie Mayes caught his 4th TD pass in 4 games. Still no rushing TDs for the Mechanics. Who knew the retirement of Kenneth Clements would have that large of an impact?
Yuma literally gives one away to San Fran. They fumbled the ball 6 times while losing 5. Ive never seen one team fumble so many times in one game. This game still wasn't decided until the end.
Yeah, your boys must have had brass knuckles on punching the ball out every chance they could, haha.. It was an encouraging loss, if thats possible. Our offense was on fire for a good portion of the game, and the defense was good for a good portion of the game as well.. We just couldn't hold on to the damn thing to save ourselves. Your guys definitely got it done when it came down to brass tacks, though. A tough loss, but not really that disappointing. We just need to avoid the turnovers.
