  • North Liberty Enforcers

Well, returning to FOF after a few years and have claimed ownership of North Liberty.

Slightly rebranded the logo, kept the team colors pretty much the same.

        Enforcers Rebrand

Enforcers will start the regular season with a new lid. "We went back to basics and embraced the origins of the Enforcers." G.M. "Hoosier". And yes, red is in the color scheme of the button.

Geez...if those two are in it, you've got to recruit an idiot for the fourth team or I'll never win a game...

              Enforcers Front Desk

Preseason is finished and we head into the opening week of OSFL action against the Chicago Reapers. Ingame has us as 7 point underdogs, but we have the edge on coaching and defense.

              Lining It Up
              Offensive Line: Offensive Attitudes Corrected

Locker room troubles for the o line are being addressed. Backup center Damon Northcott, a third year snapper out of Hawaii, has been dismissed from the team. The finesse run blocker with a low Endurance Bar was disgruntled and his attitude cost him a job. A fifth round draft pick from Western Kentucky, rookie Jeff Norris, has been promoted to backup duties. "Norris has better Blocking Strength, better Endurance, and is overall a pretty good all around backup. Toss in the fact that he's a Fan's Favorite, and it's a no brainer."

But, clear up one locker room squabble and another rears it's head. Seven year right tackle Casey Clark is demanding a trade. We'll test the waters, but it would be in our best interest to keep him since he has affinities with three other offensive linemen. Clark played one game last season for North Liberty and rode the pine. Playing time may be the cure.

For whom the bell tolls. Backup right tackle Justics Belin is on a short leash. The seventh round draft pick for San Francisco four seasons ago just doesn't have what it takes. We'll be hitting the free agency pool soon to find a suitable backup.

Defensive Line: Drawing the Line on Defense.

Rookie Nose Tackle Tracy Armstrong's number dropped dramatically after preseason, but still looks like a decent contributor. A bit overpriced now that he's dropped, but he still has the right bars in the right places. Locker Room conflict with Defensive Leader WLB Bruce Hanks will be addressed. Hanks has one year left on contract, and is currently on the inactive list. We'll be looking for a suitable replacement in free agency for the WLB to give the rookie a bit of an attitude adjustment and to clear up chemisty. We've got to give this kid a fair shot.

Second year LDE Oscar Robbins, idolized by our fans, is very solid against the run and has outstanding Endurance. Pass Rush Technique/Pass Rush Strength balance out to a boring 43, but it's doable. Rookie RDE Jonah Coble, a sixth round pick out of Illinois, is a great Run Defender and is a Punishing Hitter with great Endurance Bars. Pass Rush Techniques are non existent. But....it is what it is.

                  Enforcers: Backin' It Up

                  Offense: Running Backs/Fullbacks

Second year running back Winston Blackburn will be our featured back. "When you've got a second year running back with his numbers, 53/58, and his bars, you've got to give him the bulk of the carries." Hoosier. Toss in 9 year fullback Sedrick O. Shallard, aka "S.O.S.", and you've got a dynamic pair of backs that have the ability to ram the ball down the opponents throats. Third year back Kenny Coleman has great outside bars, but endurance is an issue. A spot reliever to be used in outside runs to put pressure on the d line and d backs, he's virtually unkown by our fans. Rookie Juan "Fibber" McGee, a third round pick from Kent State, has the backup duties. Well Liked by fans, the MAC All Star has outstanding bars in Breakaway Speed and Hole Recognition. "What I like about him is his ability to catch passes out of the backfield. Solid bars in those areas.

Getting Defensive: Backs Against the Wall.

Let's be safe and start out with the Safeties. Ten year veteran free safety Ben Bates, Well Liked by our fans, has spent his entire 10 year career with the Enforcers. Toss in eight year veteran and Fan Favorite Jake "Speedy" Gonzalez, 56/56, and you've got a dynamic duo on the field.

Our cornerbacks are unimpressive. Big changes will be coming in the next draft and free agency. "We have corners that look like solid nickle and dime contributors, but we just don't have left corner stud we need to be consistent." Read: when our veteran safeties retire, we're screwed on the deep ball.

                    Week 1 @ Chicago: Enforcers 23 Reapers 16

Enforcers claim a tough victory on the road in front of 69.5 thousand Reaper fans. Intimidating enough, but we manage to win.

Game MVP: QB Shaun "SGT" Slaughter, North Liberty.

                    Offense

QB Shaun "SGT" Slaughter. 297 yards, two passing touchdowns, zero interceptions, 103 qb rating. The veteran qb played well, but the three sacks allowed are concerning.

WR Logan Finley caught 9 passes for 147 yards while WR Donny Glover caught 17 passes for 77 yards and two touchdowns.

                    Defense

OLB Alvin Montemayor registered 7 tackles and one assist. Safety Jake "The Snake" Gonzalez threw in six tackles and one sack while defending three passes.
DE Oscar Robbins registered 1 sack, one blocked pass, three hurries on qb and five tackles.

                    Specials

Kick returner Jace Finn returned four kicks four 70 yards and a 17.5 yard average.

Injuries: Third year tight end Alex Hanks will be out approximately four weeks with a strained achilles tendon.

GM Hoosier Owens Post Game Comments

"We were the underdogs and when you're on the road facing Chicago's offense, that's a strong challenge. I think we have room for improvement, but overall, we did enough to win. We'll tweak the roster and change some things around a bit. Overall, I think we did well." Hoosier.
