That is correct. The player was/is a beast. Even at 10+ years experience, he was worth a 1st round. I needed draft picks and more importantly, O Linemen. I basically got a starting Guard, a above average DL and a starting CB. The conditional pick could end up being in the "50" range. In return, he got game setting DL and a shot at winning the championship. The DL guy is like Lotter for this team. When Lotter is on his game, the defense plays lights out.

If no negative points of view by Week 1 we will add conditional trades for the next off-season. I feel despite the fact that giving me extra work is going to be a good addition to the league

I like the idea but I do see a downside to this for the game. Say I trade for a WR and a contional pick is part of the deal that could cost me a future 2nd, 3rd, or 4th rd pick. Now say someone posts a CB you really like and they want a 2nd this year a 2nd next year and a 3rd rd pick on 3rd year. Due to the condional this would most likely mean I can't try to trade for this CB as I don't know what I have to give for the WR.

Personally, I would only use "conditional" picks as a last means of closure. Essentially, when you make a conditional pick, all of those picks are locked down.

That would fall into management of your draft picks as they are now. You can always make a straight trade without that conditional picks offering a different package. Obviously conditional picks can't be used in new trades until they become definitive.
