  • 2047 Draft class

Maybe it's just me but there seems to be more talent in this year's class of picks than years past. A few GM's in past was ready to give up on rest of players at this point. I even feel there is going to be a few gems found 5th - 7th rounds, I just hope I am lucky enough to pick a gem in the rough.

Definitely you are right. FOF8 in general the level of talent is much better. You can get excellent role players in the late rounds. I found out myself targeting blocking TEs, FBs, backup OLs and run stoppers with a lot of success.

I find it varies. The top players are a sparse with a lot of above average type players. I also find that players graded in the 3.5- 4.5 grade tend to have some sleepers in there. I discovered a couple and lost out of a couple as well. I cannot compare to FOF7 because I came in after the draft the first team/ league I played in. Regardless how it was then, drafts appear to be consistent of what you might find in real life. The only thing that needs to change is post draft undrafted rookies. They should still just have a grade and not range. (e.g. 3.7 should be 3.7 still, not Current 18 Future 75). It was a bit disappointing to go through the trouble of scouting undrafted "sleepers" and then have the whole world see what their actual potential is. The developer should definitely find a way to fix that. It will also had greater value to the 7th round pick. Anyway, I digressed.

It would be awesome if the Drafting part of the game was improved. Like having meaningful stats, injury history, player's character like OOTP has...

          Las Vegas 2047 rookie class
1.22 TE Berryman 37/53 was 35/58 in camp thought he would pop to 60 something or hoped.
          2.21 WR Ritshey 35/52
          3.8 RB Powell 37/47
          3.23 OLB Gunn 25/40
          4.19 DE Spencer 24/44
          5.9 CB Sweeny 29/43
5.20 WR Kowlowski 36/51 My late rd steal
          5.21 WR Logan 28/44
          6.8 SS Howerton 20/46
          7.7 DE Donaldson 11/44
          7.30 MLB Williams 17/42
          FA G Price 30/48
          FA SS Gillham 20/33

Very strange draft class looking at them right now in past I have always had 1-2 high looking prospects, 1-2 avg solid looking prospects, and 2-3 duds. Looks like this years picks are solid back ups, however some of them sre going to have to be starters. Looking at roster right now a few cuts will be easy but also going to have a few tough cuts to be made. I have no idea how this team is going to perform this year, will be interesting.

Let's take a look at Punxsutawney's rookie class and notable UDFAs:

            1.6: DE Kent Swift 36/60
            2.5: WR Micah Wooden 30/42
            3.6: S Jessie Buel 37/73
            4.5: TE Bryce Samuels 34/55
            6.5: C Burt Karluk 25/33
            7.6: CB RJ Harden 22/51
            7.8: T Van Krueger 13/44
            FA: G Scottie Sheldon 25/60
            FA: DT AJ Blair 23/41

Buel is looking to be a steal, and I'm happy with Samuels and Harden. I'm holding out hope that the scouts will be wrong about Swift and Wooden, but I still like where their bars are. UDFA Scottie Sheldon went from 20/23 to 25/60, and might force his way into the starting lineup.

Really good draft class. I agree with you in the bars thing... Overall is not all what it matters, you can have excellent role players with average overall rating and still producing like good ones in the appropriate situations.
