  • PLEASE READ: NO PRESEASON MIDWEEK SIMS

Starting Sunday, we will not run any scheduled preseason midweek sims during the preseason. We did this two seasons ago and it worked well. Last year the only reason we held preseason sims was because many of the owners were on vacation.

Owners are allowed to request a midweek sim and I will run one on the day/days in between the scheduled game sims. Here is the preseason schedule:

    9/27: Week 1
    9/29: Week 2
    10/1: Week 3
    10/2: Week 4
    10/4: Week 5

We will hold a mid week sim before Week 1 of the Reg Season on 10/6. Let me know if you have any questions.

Love it! Down with the mid weeks..

Hell, we should get rid of them altogether!

And yes, you can successfully do rosters with no mid weeks... you might just need to track down Ben for the explanation!

I would even go so far as to say we should sim weeks 1-3 in one sim, then 4-5 in the next sim with injuries turned off for the preseason, then turn injuries back on to start the regular season.

Just an idea, preseason is much more fun simmed in bunches, IMO.

I kind of like the idea, so every team starts the regular season on even footing injury wise.. You can use the first 2 games to play rookies heavily and see how they perform, then use the last 2 games to get your starters in and get the rust off. Just throwin it out there though, as I said.

I dont like the idea for a number of reasons: #1) I like the pace of the season. Stuffing the preseason into two sims feels like we are rushing the preseason. 2) Shutting off injuries during the preseason isnt realistic and I strive to make this league as realistic as possible. Part of the risk in playing your starters too much is that they could get injured.

I hate the idea because it takes away the control we have in resting our starters and yet making sure everyone shakes the rust in time for the regular season.

Doing it in two runs doesn't at all. In the leagues I'm in that do it that way, every player who gets significantly playing time usually goes into the regular season with no rust.
