Does a new head coach affect how a scout rates your players? I had a ton of changes in ratings that I didn't notice until last sim. Is it normal to see a lot of changes right before FA-1? For instance...

RB Sedrick Thompson, who creeped all last year from 55/55 to 61/61, is back down to 57/57.
CB Ray Truchsess, who started last year at 27/37, eventually moved to 32/32... now he's 38/38.

There's a few other examples of guys that seemed like creepers and dropped - or seemed like "busts" and went up a couple points. Didn't know if it was because of a new HC or OC (same scout) or if there is usually unmasking before FA.

When did you notice the change? First the HC has no effect on the ratins you see.

If you saw the change going from the Franchise Tag/Summer League stage into the FA1 stage, then that is the reason why. That is one of the stages in which you are likely to see a good number of rating changes.

that's when i saw it. it just seemed weird that guys who dropped over the season got increases, and guys who crept along dropped. thanks cringer.

It's a combination of unmasking and a bit of a false negative that's in there to throw you off (I assume). Young guys who appear fully developed virtually always lose a few points in that stage, then gain them back in TC.
