A thread to post tidbits or thoughts on the first 5 OSFL seasons.
I was looking through the single-season record book and here are my picks for records that will stand the test of time:
Times Sacked: Daryl Lyle was on his butt 76 times in 2006. That's nearly 5 times a game!
100 Yd. Rushing Games: Kenyon Heflin did this 14 times in 2009. Simply incredible. Only two other backs have even accomplished this 10 times in a season.
Pass Defensed %: Brendan Korinek's 96.8% is the standard of a shut-down corner. In 2006, he had 10 INT's and 25 passes defensed.
Sacks: R.J. Peterson's 27.5 sacks will not be touched. His alleged steroid induced performance has never been proven and here in Anchorage we know he's clean.
Passes Defensed: Lenny Huff had 29 in 2006. Since that season, 22 has been the high mark.
Punt Return TD's: Harvey Landry had 3 in 2006. I don't see that being broken, but possibly tied.
KO Return TD's: Heath Dixon had 4 in 2006 including two against the Gladiators in one game.
All Purpose Yds. Bruce O'Neill's 3,969 in 2006. I don't see a starting RB getting all the touches on PR and KR due to fear of injury so this record likely stands.
