  • Using TCY to create Draft Class? Ben?

Digging through my old cds, I remembered I still have a copy of FOF: The College Years. I may have asked this before but does any one know the pros and cons to using a draft class from TCY in FOF 2007. One thing I dislike about the draft classes created by the game are that we have no history or backstory for the players we draft. No stats, no awards...no information other than the combine. With TCY we will have a backstory and more information to base our decision on.

    Anyone know about this?

Ben is much more of an expert than I am, but I believe TCY produces some balancing issues with the draft class having more talent than an internally generated class does. Also, because of the way potential/current works in TCY, guys with the big years aren't necessarily the stars in FOF. So, it becomes misleading looking at the stats as well.

I'll post more in the morning, but this is a very bad idea for several reasons. And if the main reason for doing it is backstory, keep in mind that as Brian mentioned, there's often a significant disconnect between college performance and pro talent. In fact, it's not uncommon for a guy who sat the bench in TCY to be a top 10 pick.

Thanks guys. I read Ben's post at FOFC and saw that its a bad idea. I like the idea of having a history on these players but not at the risk of ruining the talent pool.
