  • Week 15 Rando Rankings

Only a few weeks left. I don't know if I'll continue doing these through the playoffs, perhaps a shortened version (who really cares who's ranked #22 when they aren't even playing?)

    WEEK 15

    1. Memphis (12-1)

Score: 1.285 Last Week: 1 In Game: 1

After back to back wins against Yuma and Utah, the Admirals are rewarded with back to back games against Waco and Pearl Harbor. They're already guaranteed a first round bye, and their next two games should be enough to give them home field throughout the playoffs. After that is just a meaningless week 17 game against the Port City Steam, who could still be fighting for their playoff lives.

    2. Yuma (10-3)

Score: 0.998 Last Week: 2 In Game: 2

The Aces came up short last week in showdown with Memphis, but that's not enough to drop them out of the #2 spot here, especially with the team immediately behind them also recently losing to Memphis, and the numbers 4-6 teams all sporting question marks. Yuma should bounce back next week with a win over Pearl Harbor, but they may need to sweep all three of their remaining games to earn a first round playoff bye. But that could be easier said than done with New Orleans and Las Vegas left to play.

    3. Utah (11-2)

Score: 0.915 Last Week: 3 In Game: 4

As expected, the Bees vented the frustrations od their week 12 loss to Memphis last week, whuppin' the Hitmen 31-0. Hopefully the Bee's didn't exhaust themselves thrashing Brooklyn, as they face a very dangerous Denver team this week in a game that could not only decide the AC West Championship, but the #2 seed in the playoffs as well.

    4. Denver (10-3)

Score: 0.915 Last Week: 4 In Game: 6

Since their week 8 loss to Utah the Grizzlies have won their last six games in a row, but the only one of those teams currently in playoff contention is Motor City, and that's only because they have to let someone from the AC North in. Denver has a chance for mre than just revenge this week against the Bees, but can their stingy defense shut down Van Lochtefeld and crew this time around?

    5. Morgantown (11-2)

Score: 0.897 Last Week: 5 In Game: 3

Barring a shocking loss to Charlotte this week, the Maniacs are all but guaranteed to move up in the rankings next week as the two teams immediately above them play each other. Also helping Morgantown's score, their week 11 loss to Columbus will finally move out of the short term "momentum" tracker. Looking ahead for the Maniacs there doesn't seem to be anyone left in their schedule who will be able to keep them from locking down a week one playoff bye.

    6. North Liberty (10-3)

Score: 0.792 Last Week: 6 In Game: 5

North Liberty is another team who will be rising up the rankings next week, for the exact same reasons. Only in their case it'll be that embarrassing week 11 loss to Chicago that will be fading from memory (and their momentum score). Granted, they still have to beat Roy Parish and the Totems this week, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem for the Enforcers.

    7. Gainesville (10-3)

Score: 0.773 Last Week: 10 In Game: 12

The Gaels bounce back up the rankings after a convincing win over Punxsutawney. They currently have a lock on one of the two NC wild card spots. They also have to be looking forward to a possible playoff match up with NC East leading Boston, a team they beat 23-7 in week 8. But the only way they can still win the NC South title is if Morgantown loses another winnable game.

    8. Portland (8-5)

Score: 0.773 Last Week: 8 In Game: 9

The Phantoms picked up a solid win over what was once considered to be a very good Saint Paul team. That victory, combined with Anchorage's loss gives Portland the clear lead lead in their division, but their week 17 game against Gladiators still features all sorts of playoff implications for both teams.

    9. San Francisco (8-5)

Score: 0.770 Last Week: 7 In Game: 10

After losing five of six games in the middle of the season the Bayhawk's playoff hopes looked to be fading fast, but after their last two wins they are back in the driver's seat. With St. Paul continuing to struggle, San Francisco could sew up the last NC wild card spot with a win of Las Vegas this week.

    10. New Orleans (8-5)

Score: 0.732 Last Week: 9 In Game: 13

The Stingrays are currently holding onto the last wild card spot in their conference, but need to beat Port City this week to keep that spot. If they do make it past the Steam their path into the playoffs could still be derailed by Yuma in week 16.

    And the rest.

    11. Anchorage (+0)
    12. St. Paul (+1)
    13. Boston (+3)
    14. Port City (-2)
    15. Los Alamos (+0)
    16. Dakota (+2)
    17. Columbus (-3)
    18. Las Vegas (+1)
    19. Kalispel (+3)
    20. Motor City (+0)
    21. Chicago (+0)
    22. Punxsutawney (-5)
    23. Ohio Valley (3)
    24. Lake County (0)
    25. Pearl Harbor (-2)
    26. Camden (1)
    27. S. Maryland (1)
    28. Washington (-3)
    29. Brooklyn (0)
    30. Waco (1)
    31. Phoenix (-1)
    32. Charlotte (0)
