Didn't get this one out before the sim was run. Oh well
1. Memphis (11-1)
Score: 1.215 Last Week: 1 In Game: 1
Memphis won big over #3 Utah last week, earning them a hefty boost in overall score, enough that even if they were to lose to #2 Yuma next week, they could still hold on to the #1 spot. Which rather makes me wonder if I shouldn't be tweaking the "Momentum Score" system some more.
2. Yuma (10-2)
Score: 1.068 Last Week: 2 In Game: 2
The Aces beat the Catfish by 10 last week, in their final warm up before this week's showdown in Memphis. However, as mentioned above, the Admiral's win over Utah last week, combined with Yuma's relatively weak OWP and low YPA differential could be enough to keep the Aces out of the #1 spot, no matter what they do next week. Of course, if they can't get the win, none of that matters.
3. Utah (10-2)
Score: 0.911 Last Week: 3 In Game: 3
Utah holds onto this spot after losing to the #1 team last week. Utah is still one game up in the AC West and they do play rival Denver again in two weeks, but they still look to have their division all but sewn up with their remaining three games being against Brooklyn Camden, and Los Alamos.
4. Denver (9-3)
Score: 0.876 Last Week: 5 I n Game:5
Denver is a bit of a surprise here at #4, considering they aren't even leading their division. But although the Grizzlies are only 1-4 against teams that currently have winning records, they are 8-0 against teams that are .500 or below. Something that neither of the two teams below them can claim. And while the Denver offense hasn't exactly been lighting up the scoreboard, their defense has been dominating against lesser opponents.
5. Morgantown (10-2)
Score: 0.789 Last Week: 8 In Game: 4
Morgantown's victory over Chicago is enough to the Maniacs back into the top 5, but thier back to back division losses to Gainesville and Columbus are still keeping their overall score down. Gainesville's loss last week should be enough to give Morgantown the NC South crown. With the exception of the Catfish, none of their remaining opponents are particularly imposing.
6. North Liberty (9-3)
Score: 0.776 Last Week: 7 In Game: 8
Another division leading team ranked lower than you would expect. In the Enforcer's case it is their Week 11 loss to Chicago that is keeping them down. They face 7-5 Anchorage this week, in what should be a defensive showdown, a victory could help push North Liberty back up the rankings.
7. San Francisco (7-5)
Score: 0.772 Last Week: 10 In Game: 7
The Bayhawks beat NC East leading Boston last week to keep themselves in the increasingly tight wild card race. San Francisco has Las Vegas and Port City up next, before wrapping up what has been a brutal schedule with what should be a very winnable game against Pearl Harbor at home.
8. Portland (7-5)
Score: 0.736 Last Week: 15 In Game: 10
Portland knocked off 7-5 New Orleans last week to stay atop the AC North and, just in case, one step ahead of the Stingrays in the wild card race. Things aren't looking like they're going to get any easier for the Phantoms in the near terms, as St. Paul comes to town, fresh of off breaking their four game losing streak.
9. New Orleans (7-5)
Score: 0.731 Last Week: 6 In Game:15
A loss last week against Portland was a serious blow to the Stingray's playoff hopes. With the division out of reach, New Orleans may have to win at least three of their next four for a shot at the last wild card spot. Fortunately for the Stingray's, Pearl Harbor is up next.
10. Gainesville (9-3)
Score: 0.710 Last Week: 4 In Game: 17
The Gaels tumble six spots after losing last week to the Defenders. That loss deals a serious blow to their chances of winning the NC South outright, but they still have the inside track at the top wild card spot.
And the rest.
