  • Rate North Liberty/Charlotte Trade

    Only time will tell whether it was a good trade for either/both teams, but initially, what do you think?

    2011 2.NLB
    2012 1.NLB, 4.NLB
    (WR) Reader

    and

    for (WR) 5th yr P. Siegrist (76/76) and (LT) 10th yr J. Grant 44/44.

    I'm going to class in a bit. I want to see some polarized, Obama/Clinton type replies by the time I get home, ok kids?

      While I like the deal for both teams, I think Charlotte got the better end of the deal.

      Getting a player of Siegrist's skill level is hard to do, but there are question marks. He is a red flag. He is in the last year of his contract. Plus, despite his high rating, his numbers for a three year career leave a lot to be desired. He averages 900 yards and 5 scores a season. Grant is OK, but he is older, and probably should be a #3 OT on a contender.

      For Charlotte, they got the better end. While this trade of course improves NLB's team as a whole, they have been one of the worst teams in the league since its inception. How high will those draft picks be? Is it possible that NLB fails to make the playoffs these next three years and those picks are top 15? Plus, Reader looks to be a serviceable WR.

        If nothing else, it stimulates convo for our league.

          North Liberty wins.
          Getting a WR of that caliber is almost impossible. He is only in his 5th season. He could make NLB very good for a very long time.
          The picks are two 1sts, one 2nd, one 3rd, one 4th. Charlotte gets 3 starters, maybe 4 and a good backup or kicker.
          What if one or 2 picks bust?

              I like Siegrest, he's a great WR. I'm not sure I'd have given that much up for him though.
